Could they live up to the Kenzo successes of the past? It looks likely, thanks to their stellar Spring 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Besides the fact that their Opening Ceremony friends added to the fashion celeb-infused event (Jason Schwartzmen with music and Chloe Sevigny closed the show), we were wondering if we were going to see an Opening Ceremony imitation. Luckily, the designers did focus Kenzo Takada’s Japanese culture mixed with their French fashion knowledge and a sense of American sportswear, along with knits, taffeta, and color blocking. It was bright and a bit over-the-top but we think its energy will resonate with buyers from all over.

http://www.FashionTV.com/videos MILAN – FashionTV presents Milan Design Week 2012, where we took a look at the Versace 2012 Home collection. The installations were set out in the Versace courtyard, in which various rooms were recreated to show what would be a total Versace home. Versace’s shapes and volumes were borrowed from tradition, where inspiration was found from the past. FashionTV spoke with the talented Donatella Versace about what she had in store for us, “This new collection of our signature, for me is like a fashion show. I treat furniture as a precious possession, I like to dress them. I keep using, more or less the same shapes which are perfectly classic, but I like to dress them in different ways. This time, I went with Baroque and a pastel combination, because a lot of people requested this because we don’t find it anymore, but at the same time I wanted to make it contemporary”, she says. Among the designer’s trademark symbols, the Baroque swirl was one of the most unique graphic elements that reappered. Sofa shades and bedding included metallic lavender, electric blue and green velvets. Pop colors and modern furniture were all personalized in the collection, such as exotic prints on the carpets and tables. Fashion and design is mixed very well here in order for people to experience the authentic Versace lifestyle.
