Dash cam video: Flying truck almost kills state trooper in Iowa
A police dash-cam caught the dramatic moment when a pickup truck was sent flying through the air on a motorway in the US state of Iowa.
The video footage – from Friday 14 March – shows a state trooper investigating an earlier accident on the hard shoulder of US Interstate 80.
A pickup truck suddenly flies through the air, narrowly missing the state trooper before slamming into an embankment and coming to a stop.
Police say the truck had been hit by a lorry, causing it to fly off the road.
Johnson County Sheriff’s Office released the video to help illustrate why motorists need to use caution when driving by vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road.
