Tributes have been paid to the Hollywood film composer James Horner, who’s been killed in a light plane crash in southern California.

Best-known for the scores for the likes of Titanic and Braveheart, the 61-year-old was reportedly piloting the small private aircraft when it came down in a remote area north of Santa Barbara on Monday.

The crash caused a fire that scarred more than an acre of bushland.

In France, 11 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation into last summer’s terrorist attack in the Riviera city of Nice.

Ten people were taken into custody in Nice on Monday morning on suspicion of having helped the attacker Lahouaiej Bouhlel obtain weapons.
