This Latin phrase can certainly be used to describe 2015 for two of sport’s most powerful world governing bodies – FIFA and the IAAF.

Climate expert: “Measures needed for extreme weather, or will kill us”

“We need to develop strategies to cope with extreme weather, or it will kill us.”

As Europe suffocates under a heatwave, climate expert Carlo Buontempo says temperatures “will continue to go up,” adding that “heat-related mortality has increased by 30% over the past 20 years.”

Buontempo, who leads the Copernicus Climate Change Service, also said that “record-breaking temperatures should not be breaking news. This is a consequence of the world warming up.”
