Venezuelan socialists plot next move

Published

on

http://www.euronews.com/ Venezuelan legislators have re-elected Chavez ally, Diosdado Cabello as head of the National Assembly.

The move puts Cabello in line for the position of caretaker president if the incumbent, Hugo Chavez, fails to recover from complications following cancer surgery in Cuba.

Beatriz Lecumberri is a journalist and author of “The Sentimental Revolution.”

She spoke to euronews about the next move for the socialists of Hugo Chavez:

“All the rumours that speak of the internal conflict between National Assembly leader, Diosdado Cabello and Vice-President Nicolas Maduro are hard to believe, both realise that the revolution must continue and they will respect what Chavez says to maintain order.
The issue now is not Maduro or anyone within the Chavez clan.
The next conflict will be Maduro against someone from the opposition.
Chavez has said that Maduro is his heir and he will take the top job. Elections will then follow. Venezuelans will decide, for me the big question.
is, are the opposition led by Henrique Caprile, strong enough to take power at the polls? The message to Chavez’s socialists is no infighting and present a united front to beat the opposition in the election.”

You've been exchanging punches with a radical leftist, he attacks everybody who doesn't subscribe to the extreme left-wing ideology, you can see him show up on videos with a social message, he is a devoted communist doing a living in capitalist Canada (way more capitalist than Obama's socialist policies), expect at least 80% of YT users to share his radical views.
    Be safe out there.

    1. So the US is under capitalism, but the end result is fascism, by that logic the US is already fascist because capitalism leads to fascism. lol.

    2. keep believing those tabloids boy.

    3. yes because thats actually how goverments function in the 21st century. all goverments are in debt and use tax revenue and surplus to pay it off lol. So your telling my that the US goverment is any better? they owe over 16 trillion and every cent goes to paying off their debt, even more corrupt LOL

    1. None of that retardation is true. Communism is the end product of socialism under Marxian theory. A classless stateless society. Currency has nothing to do with it and there is no party. There are also dozens of variations of socialism.
    2. Ignoring reality is not actually going to change it.
    3. Whatever is left is distributed through the bureaucratic method after much of it is eaten by govt. I wouldn't expect you to understand economics illiterate.

    1. there IS a difference between communism and socialism, in communism the goal is a moneyless ownershipless society, dedicated to the party, Socialism retains aspects of a capitalism consumer based economy while retaining ownership and money laws. I suggest you look up the definition of each before you blow smoke out your ass.

    2. again, you reading the "tabloids" again? LOL

    3. the oil wealth is distrubuted via SOCIALIST MEANS! LOL. i dont expect you to understand redistrubtion, yankee.

    1. Cuba calls itself communist. Communism is a form of socialism anyways.
    2. No because he is worth $1 billion. Where did he get that money from?
    3. Country is improving due to oil money not due to socialism or Chavez. Country would be much richer if it wasn't for socialism. Look at any western capitalist country deluded. And what do you think is going to happen when oil runs out?
If Venezuela and socialism was so great why did you leave hypocrite?

1.just LOL. there is a difference between socialism and what cuba is, a COMMUNIST country. don't confuse them. they're embargo'd by the US so life is really tough
2.your the kind of simpleton that believes everything the media tells you, regardless of actualities. so the news says that chavez is bad, he steals, hes a socialist, so be must be a ebbbilll dictator ?
    3. i know many many people there that voted for him, because the country is improving regardless of the shit your being fed.

    1. Lol ironic where are you getting your info from VTV? Really capitalism is so terrible? The why did you leave socialist Venezuela and moved to Canada? Why are thousands of Cubans risking their lives swimming to US?
    2. Again moron, stealing oil money and using SOME of it to help people is not an accomplishment. The people would be much better off & richer if the socialist govt wasn't stealing money.
    3. Chavez bought votes with state money, subsidies & handouts.

  9. @frankxxx69

    February 28, 2024 at 5:03 am

theres a reason more than 60% of the country voted him back into office. But you wouldn't understand that, you brazenly attack another countries leader and call him a dictator without being insightful

    1. your getting your information from the internet, because everything on the internet is true

your throwing around socialism like its a pejorative, tell me,capitalism is because capitalism doesn't leave people behind right?

    2. You obviously have a very low IQ (hence you take longer to take in information) They are goverment programs, paid for by the venezuelan gov. same as with the subsidy programs. Hundreds of thousands have been housed. I lived there, have family there. Try again.

    1. He is a billionaire. He is worth $1 billion (celebritynetworth), all which stole. Billions also magically go missing from his pet projects like Fonden.
His socialist bubby Fidel Castro is also worth $800 million. Socialism sure is a lucrative business.
    2. Did he house them with his own money? No you useful idiot. By that token even Saddam & Gaddafi were great philanthropists.

  12. @frankxxx69

    February 28, 2024 at 5:03 am

#1 hes not a billionaire, can you see his bank account? #2 sorry if he used nationalised oil money to house homeless venezuelans with housing programs, and subsidy programs to allow people be able to afford appliances that make life a little easier. tell the venezuelan here that I am wrong.

  13. @H1TMANactual

    February 28, 2024 at 5:03 am

Done more with what? People's own money? Oh how nice of the billionaire Chavez when he wasn't busy stealing oil money.

    Interesting choice of words, "plot".
Is that what Socialists do? They don't plan? They don't think?
If Chavez dies, I expect all kinds of media and covert bullshit to arise.
Should be as interesting as a recurring tumor.
How's Sheriff Lobo doing in Honduras? Planning away I suspect.
