Blowing up the dam forced Ukraine to attack to the east. It shrunk the front and made it easier for the Russians to defend it. Good thing that Ukraine wasn't dumb enough to cross the Dnipro downstream of the dam; they were probably watching the water level rise in the reservoir and had a good idea of what Russia was about to do.

We know its the Russians so stop pretending it is open to doubt. The Ukrainians will not engage in any activity that jeopardizes its relationship with the West especially the U.S. that is its lifeline. We also know now it was the Russians that blew the Nord stream pipeline although this too was obvious from the beginning if you knew what questions to ask..

sorry TLDR team but your analysis over this war crime is wrong and based on your feelings/ western propaganda rather then facts. This dam would be more likely destroyed under it's own bad infrastructure as stated in reports long before the war ( The dam wasn't repaired and had some cracks before this even started) or Ukraine has shelled the dam by accident perhaps.
Saying only Russia is blowing up dams is like saying that Zelensky is holy, Who blew up northstream? who blew up that bridge? who launched a missile into Poland? who shelled civilians since 2014 and also during this war bombed an apartment block/ hospitals? and who is lieing about certain cities being under their control?
Sorry TLDR but if you focus your attention on independent real journalist who are on the ground, risking their lives and interviewing the last people into those cities then you know what is going on.
Now i am not going to say that Russia didn't commit any war crimes since this is war and bad things happens on both fronts.
For my claim that Russia can't be the one doing it is cause the Dam is sitting in Russian ground ( under the referendum of the people and people living in those cities) also it is made to help the people of Crimea ( Russian ground aswell) supply for water.
Next is the power plant, that one has been shelled by Ukraine army non stop but since Russia can defend all those attacks, this is another tactic by Ukraine to blow up that power plant and pushing Russia into nuclear.
Ukraine needed something to push people into supplying and helping Ukraine even more as all that happened past months seemed that ukraine is failing, this can show that Ukraine isn't weak and still has fighting power against Russia so supply more before it is too late. This is all a propaganda, money laundering machine created by Ukraine and the West.
Also don't forget the pentagon documents where they planned all of this, some US officials also stated that the dam would been attacked same as they sayed about north-stream

I like when people parrot the "official" narative! First of all it was the ukrainians that launched missiles against the dam months ago according to their own words "to test if they are capable of destroying it"! Second: the russians controlled the dam so why the hell should they waste missiles to blow it instead of simply open the gates? Ring any bell yet? Third: why would russians flood their own positions south and lose the most important fresh water supply to Crimea? And fourth: how come that the very next day after that dam was blown up gates of another dam further north the Dnepr river were wide open in a Ukraine held area? Again, ring any bells? People should think at least a second before jumping to conclusions for which there is abolutely no "evidence". If you say there is plenty of evidence show it, not just talk bs. Oh i forgot, the "official" footage released by the Ukranian government was totally debunked as fake but it doesn't matter because there are so many other evidences. Nice job!

for those who squeak here, you don’t need to make idiots out of Russians using the example of idiots Ukrainians, this is the first, second, all attempts to promote any events in Ukraine are aimed only at bringing Ukraine closer to NATO and asking for money from the presidents as a drug addict, have you seen drug addicts begging for drugs in your yard? there is a peculiarity of behavior that can be seen in Zelensky, only the scale is different, the third, now Zelensky is in Kherson and no one is shelling Kherson, if it was necessary, then there would not even be a reminder left of him just like taking Kiev, Russia is able to do both in the meantime, we seem to be a theater of only non-combat operations .. commerce is the basis of everything .. I can say one thing, at the moment nothing shines for Ukraine

The 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which today seriously snatched from the Russian guys in the Zaporozhye direction, was formed a little more than a year ago from volunteers from different regions of Ukraine and was considered "elite".
The brigade underwent intensive combat training at the ranges of Ukraine and Europe. That is, it was led, supervised by Western military experts, they also took a direct part in the preparation. The unit is 100% staffed with both personnel and weapons and military equipment. The brigade is armed with M55 tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Panthera T6 armored vehicles. It is clear that the means of intelligence. And even so, the enemy unit did not complete the task. Self-confidence and hope for Western gifts and intelligence. However, the Kiev regime does not spare people, so it will continue. Until the last Ukrainian. In Washington, the dead are not counted. In Kyiv, they take an example from their elders.

When you push along an entire front like this, it can be to probe, but it also is trying to bait the enemy into committing. When you see enemy troops rushing to bolster defenses in one area, they lose strength elsewhere, and if you're looking for a foothold, that's now a place you can more easily take and achieve a new strategic position (or simply deny or make harder the strategic position of the enemy)

If the Russians wanted to flood the area they would have just opened the gates of dam. Your narrative is blatant lie.

Nova Kahhovka dam is NOT the biggest dam in Ukraine. Its the Dnipro Dam in Zaporizhzhia and that dam was also blown up in WW2.

Impactful and regrettable video shows dozens of Ukrainian vehicles being destroyed within a perimeter of 200 meters. How long will the uniformed comedian send young people on suicide missions?

The problem when talking about the Novakakovka dam is that everyone talks about why Russia did it saying that Ukraine had no reason to do it. I'm not saying they did, because I don't think they did, but the discussion about this is never nuanced and is always aimed at targeting Russia without explaining why.
On the one hand, yes, Russia could have benefited from this because it will prevent any counter attacks from Ukraine for the next few weeks, and Russia has already proven it doesn't care about the safety of civilians so it wouldn't be bellow them to risk the Ives of a few thousands of them for this. But on the other, although Ukrain doesn't seem very keen on hurting it's own people, it does have some strategic reasons for why it would do such a thing. Most of the territory flooded is on the Russian occupied side, and that means that most if not all of the first line of defences that Russia had prepared to defend Kherson is gone. Trenches are flooded, bunkers too, equipment has to moved back or abandoned to the flood,… this means that once the water levels go back down, there would be no defences left to hamper any Ukrainian offensive.
Again, I'm not saying they did it, but it's important to explaine why they might have done it too, because they do have reasons for why they would have blown up the dam.

"Probing attack" that cost Ukrainians hundreds of combat vehicles? Visually confirmed by a huge number of combat footage.
Russia blowing up the dam that supplies Crimea they are controlling and flooding their own troops on islands in Dnepro?
You guys are either real retatrds or just amazing liars.
