Sydney’s Botany Bay played host to the inaugural Red Bull Cape Fear which featured 16 of the world’s best surfers who went head-to-head on Sunday (August 31). The six to eight foot waves over one of the world’s deadliest reefs make the event one of the more difficult in the world, with the competition organisers claiming it to be the most dangerous. Hawaii’s Ian Walsh said the waves in Botany Bay were ones which surfers travelled all over the world looking for. source
