Living in a cave is the most ecological thing we could do – oh and culling 99% of the humans on the planet. Given where we are we need all the help we can get from AI. The electronics used by AI gets more efficient every year unlike our inefficient housing stock. For example this laptop I am typing on uses 20Watts and replaces the 200Watt PC I used to use.

ChatGPT trains its programs with everything everyone has posted on line, with every Library content, with every movie and song ever written, with every Museum content, and ChatGPT does not pay anything to anyone for their content, like all these For – Profit and Closed Source LLM based programs, all basically steal everything from everyone , and Politicians are silent , the only recourse is the Courts. The problem started first when the CEO Altman of OpenAI, ChatGPT parent , which was Open Source and Not for Profit, created an obscure subsidiary and made it For Profit and Closed Source to make deals , including one with Microsoft for $ 10 billion, and the race to steal started, in my opinion. AI must be Open Source and Not for Profit .
