I create pretty pictures and post them on insta and twitter. I have been asked now over a dozens of times how my stuff looks nothing like the normal AI art people see and recognize easily (Midjourney, weird hands, same face, and so on):
When I explain that I downloaded and installed a web user interface and python, set up checkpoints, merged them, set up hypernetworks, embeddings, work with inpainting and outpainting, use different upscaling methods, write prompts without mentioning an artist (I am using only artistic terms) and train models to my liking – they give up and continue not imitating that. I go over the same image 100+ times until I have the detail and sharpness I want and than add things in photoshop, which takes an hour per picture.
Artist need not to fear. Maybe a few people like me are now posting some pictures for a hobby – but the vast majority will not even care to install and learn how to use a program.
