Austria rarely makes the international news headlines. But, in the last couple of years, the country has undergone a series of scandals and resignations due to corruption. All this chaos has bolstered non-mainstream parties, including the Communist Party and the Beer Party; yet, a pro-Russian Party appears to be winning in polls. So, what’s next for Austria and can they ever recover from this political slump?

ÖVP isn't conservative, only on paper. Strache was never jailed but acquitted.
Hmm that's all pretty lackluster with pretty big mistakes. You simply can not judge these affairs by mainstream reports or get good picture of anything political, and that's not just true for Austria.

  3. @ungeimpfterrusslandtroll7155

    February 14, 2024 at 12:45 am

The FPÖ had less close ties to "Putin", not that i think that's a bad thing, than every other of the big parties, where they literally have or had people sitting in Gazprom and other institutions. That was all just a convenient mainstream narrative that came up with the war.

In Sahih Muslim 22 it calls for continuous wars until everyone worships allah.

Sahih Muslim 2176a Talked about being hostile against Jews and Christians.

Quran 8.12 calls for extreme form of violence against disbelievers.

Quran 9.29 also calls for wars against disbelievers and also tax for remaining as a disbelievers.

Sahih Albukhari 2926 talks about genocide of jews.

Sahih Albukhari 3029 says war is deceit.

Lying during war is permitted (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1939)

Quran 4.24 permits non consensual intercourse with war captives and slaves(the right hand possess).

Many more violent, lying, war encouraging verses in hadith, sunnah and quran. So what are your opinions on these teachings in Islam?

Why does a native English speaker believe it is right to attempt pronouncing "Ibiza" in Spanish in the middle of an English sentence? I am multi lingual and in none of the languages I have mastered do we insert foreign pronunciation mid sentence like this… It makes no sense to do this… Unless you are native Spanish speaking English (rather masterly I would say), which would only be an excusable offense.

russian dirty noney and native corruption go hand in hand: Hungary, Austria, France Le pen, etc Wherever they find a weak spot they pump the money/ cyber help, on the declared objectif of undermining democracy wherever they can find it. Having allies in all these countries goes on par to demonstrate that their kleptocracy is viable and not that different from western corruption.

For anyone wondering, the reason why so many Austrian parties have a Ö in their acronyms is because of the country's native name in German: Österreich, whose literal meaning is something like "realm of the east" or "eastern country".

    European politics in a nutshell.
Center right party is in trouble cause its corrupt.
Center left party is in trouble cause they elected a radical guy who thinks maybe we should help poor people.

How not to love the extreme centrism of EU, where corruption and helping the poor is a equivelent crime.

"Apparent threat of muslim immigration" have you been living under a rock in iceland the last decade ?
As a frenchman, i am more than keenly aware of the fact that we are allowing through immigration hostile foreign enclaves to grow on our soil.
But that is "apparent"-ly not a real threat.
Bonus point at scrabbles if you also manage to get the words great replacement, a reality in some neighbourhood of our capital and a whole district of our country. A medium size city in it is self nicknamed by its inhabitants as "the second bamako", it being Mali's capital.

  34. @diesermartin

    February 14, 2024 at 12:45 am

The facts in this Video are all correct, but some things seem to be poorly investigated.
Let's start with Babler's "Anti-EU" Rethoric. Yes he did say the "most aggressive military alliance" thing, but this things came up in what for some looked like a smear campaign just a few days before the crucial vote on the party leadership, origitanting from a three year old podcast made by a supporter of the other candidate. Furthermore, he denounced this many times since then. This should be mentioned when doing sophisticated journalistic work.
Next is the success of the Beer Party in the presidential election. There is a specific reason for the success, that is not necessarily distrust into the main political parties, but rather that the ÖVP and SPÖ did not set up their own candidate, as the current president, Van der Bellen, is quite popular. The only other candidates than Van der Bellen were from the FPÖ and even more fringe right wing parties. Therefore, the Beer Party candidate was seen as kind of a protest vote, especially for people who wanted any sensible and especially Left wing alternative. Last but not least mentioning the success of KPÖ in Graz is more or less a joke, as this election happened (just) before the accusations against Kurz started to materialise and the KPÖ always had its stronghold there.
All together I need to say that I am very dissapointed by your investigation for this video and hope that you do a better job for other videos were I do not have inside knowledge, because I really thought this channel to be somehow trustworthy 😥

  35. @the8thgemmer467

    February 14, 2024 at 12:45 am

Your analyses are usually good but this is just terrible. Blaming Babler for SPO’s decline when it was down to 20% before he was elected and has not fallen since is just reading things upside down and your biased portrayal of him as a generic extremist bad guy (when he is one of the most popular politicians in Austria) does not meet your usual standards.

  36. @MarkWhiley

    February 14, 2024 at 12:45 am

Is it broken? The FPÖ and this small communist party have been around for ages. Justice got served around Kurz. I don't quite get why the FPÖ have come out of this unscathed but I guess it's to do with their voters priorities and how FPÖ scandals don't really bother them – in the way that many Tory scandals bounce off of them. I think Britain's political system is more broken frankly.

  37. @xraselver7634

    February 14, 2024 at 12:45 am

It's tiring to live here and see people vote for the FPÖ when you can easily fact-check them and see how they waste time and effort with misinformation …
