   Advocating for workers is become an interesting paradigm in recent years, because most working class people aren't really what you could classify as left-wing, but the people that most talk about the working class are usually more left-wing. So, it is interesting how they want to square representing and taking care of people who have very different political and usually also economic view to them.

   She might have some interesting ideas about economy, and yes, Germany is slightly too dominant in the EU.
   However.
   Any european politician wanting to be friendly with Russia and opposing NATO is an immediate red flag.
   Any politician who ACTUALLY values democracy needs to understand that Russia does not share those values, and actively works against them.
   Seeing central and western European politicians failing to see the obvious warning signs, time and time again, is incredibly frustrating, especially when observing this from a country sitting right at the border with a hostile country that is harassing, sabotaging and threatening us and our neighbours regularly.

    02:45 Lafontaine quits because they made him Finance Minister and he realised that all his political promises were empty because there wasn’t enough money to implement them. In order not to be seen to betray his ideology he just ran away. He quit and left politics to become "a private citizen" in Saarland, and indeed didn't make any political statements for several months.

    You think Germany's politics is chaotic? In comparison with Austria it's boring and structured. Look at Ex-Chancellor Kurz. Despite his youth he can't remember much of his time in office now that he is on trial.

    Little update: Wagenknecht has her big press conference tomorrow October 23rd, with the announcement of own party. An association without party status has already been founded, conversion to a party is most likely, as the association status is only sufficient to have ballot access in some state elections – and she would miss some important ones.
    Wagenknecht and two other MPs will appear in that press conference – if those three quit their membership in The Left's parliamentary party, the PP will control less than 5% of the seats in parliament, leading to the downgrading of the group status ("Fraktion" -> "Gruppe") a loss of committee memberships and a serious cut in funding. The whole parliamentary staff will be fired between next week and January, the new "Gruppe" will be a new legal entity that might hire a tiny portion of those.
    Another danger for The Left: there are three ways to recieve proportional seats in parliament – winning three FPTP seats, winning 5% of the proportional vote or having minority status (only applies to the SSW party from the Danish border). The Left had less than 5% but won 3 FPTP seat, two of which are in the state of Berlin. The federal election of 2021 was on the same day as the Berlin state election … and the Berlin Marathon which blocked many voters from reaching their polling stations, which was just one of the problems of the non-fraudulent but highley chaotic election. Challenging elections is a faster process under Berlin state law and the state election was already repeated, the federal challenge is slower but the result might be the same and a repetition of the election in Berlin must be seriously considered and if the two Berlin seats are not defended, The Left and the Wagenknecht party will no longer have seats.
    Support for The Left has significantly vanished since the election and the Wagenknecht defection will only worsen the chances of that party.

    I don't know about all the people saying she's not popular here in Germany. She has been one of the most popular politicians for years now, never even once leaving the top ten of popular German politicians. (There are several institutes that do surveys on who's the most popular politician).
    Compare that to chancellor Scholz who wasn't even on the list back in 2015. I think only Markus Söder comes close to her in terms of long-term popularity but then again, he has been a coalitional politician for most of the time, meaning he ruled certain aspects of the country as minister or by ruling Bavaria, Germany's second most populous state.

    And even if she were not popular, she still is pretty famous. Try going around asking Germans how certain politicians look. Do that with other oppositional politicians and despite for Wagenknecht or Weidel, most people won't know the name or cannot think of a face when hearing the name. And then again, Weidel has only been around for 3 years or so.
    As for Wagenknecht's current party "Die Linke", most people only know Gysi and her and Gysi isn't even an active member anymore.

    What a fascinating and interesting person, thought I have to say I already strongly disagree with her on a variety of ideas.

    Its just so strange. I almost want to say she's not "Left Wing Economically, Right Wing Socially" so much as "Left Wing Economically and Hyper-Conservative on Literally Everything Else"

    Floating the idea of disbanding NATO makes me incredibly uncomfortable, not only because of the war in Ukraine, but also China's efforts to put a wedge between the US and the rest of the West.

    I'm curious to know what she understands of the relationship between Social Issues and Economic Issues. They are not so easily seperated.

    I´m against marxists in general but calling her party "pro-russian" is a lie. The sanctions were against German interests. It´s tiresome how these pro-EU journos still get away with their propaganda. No one believes you anymore.

    Title is an example of a "false premise".
    Wagenknecht is not "pro-Russia", but shares the analysis of geostrategists like Mearsheimer that the USA/collective West caused the war to a great extent, by using the Ukraine as bait to provoke Russia ("buck passing and "buck catching" as strategy).

    Her political views are pretty much in line with other EU anti-war politicians like Claire Daly (Ireland). None of them are "pro Russia".

    They are destroying Germany as of right now! Completely delusional in terms of economy.
    Also only party that had outspoken pedophiles in the 80s that wanted to forgive all pedophiles their crimes. The green party had the BAG SchwuP, which are for gays, trans and the as they were called "Pederasts", which you have most likely heared from the russians… this term is for gays who fuck kids and teenagers – gay pedophiles.

    Yeah she destroyed the party i usually voted by splitting it into 2, and also firing against people like me all the fucking time so. welp.

    Also checking multiple german ratings of how popular Sahra is, i didn't find any where she's on place 4.
    Looking into many lists she's coming at the 17th place at max 12th. (Poll September this year)
    Also, i really doubt her party will take of that well as people predict, in the end "in the east" she steals most votes from other right wing parties anyway, like CDU, freie Wähler or the AfD
