What a week it’s been for Femke Bol in Germany.

The 22-year-old Dutch running star predicted a “tough challenge” as she came to Munich aiming for a famous 400m double.

On Wednesday, Bol grabbed the headlines with gold in the 400m with a European lead time of 49.44s.

Just 48 hours later, she was back, storming to victory in the 400m Hurdles in a Championship record 52.67.

With a double in the bag, Femke linked up with her Dutch team-mates to anchor the 4x400m relay squad to get her hands on another gold. A hat-trick of golds over four days in Munich. Have a rest Femke!

We all want to see Femke Bol and Sydney McGlaughlin in a 400 meter showdown.

I want to see Femke Bol, Sydney McLaughlin and Athing Mu in one race. I love the new people. Hm maybe Kaczmarek too, loved watching her too. Who are the best in 400 and 400 hurdles nowadays?

To be able to compete in the same league as Sydney, Miller Uibo and Dalilah, Bol is definitely on another class level.

About a week before the world championship in Oregon, I was out biking and stopped at a Starbucks for breakfast. A few minutes later I saw someone wearing the Dutch track suits. It seemed the Dutch ladies went out for a little something to eat or drink at the coffee shop. I went outside and spoke a few Dutch words I knew. They were all athletic and blonde. They all seemed nice and friendly. They mentioned that they were on the relay team. I must have met Femke there as well , as the Dutch members probably hung out together. They were training for the world championship in Oregon in Irvine CA probably at UCI a local university, though I can't know for sure. They have a track field there, so that would be obvious. I knew that they and Femke BOl would do well.

Steve Cram wants her to try the 800 and as she’s obviously dominant over Europe but Mcglaughlin seems unbeatable at world level I’d like to see her over longer distance too.

A once in a generation athlete. Both Sydney McLaughlin and Femke Bol has the potential to challenge and in all likeness defeat Shaunae Miller Uibo in the 400m flats. We are privileged to be able to witness her live.

Femke Bol🇳🇱 is the 1️⃣st woman in the history of the European championships, world championships and Olympic Games to win the 400m AND 400m hurdles at the same championships.

The only man to do this was Harry Hillman🇺🇸 at the OG in 1904.

But Femke Bol won the relay too! First athlete to do it all.

Congrats to Bol. McLaughlin will do this hat trick in the next world championship. She seems ready to get a sub 49 easily, and likely a sub 48.5
