In this video, we look at the EU’s side of the debate and examine the EU’s draft mandate. We look at what the mandate has to say on the matter and try to decode what the union want from their deal with the United Kingdom.

Happy to see them gone tbh. Now we finally can move on and evolve into something new, exciting. Let them go back to their past of nostalgia and let them enjoy their utopian empire by themselves. Gone Britannia gone, long live Europa!

Total SUBMISSION TO EU AND GERMANY'S ORDERS. What else can it be when the "tween sisters" from Germany is the top bosses.

  9. @bazrobb6242

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

Visa versa the eu are not a member of the uk club so cannot expect to have the same perks .

  10. @bsmith8950

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

The eu doesent make, buy or sell anything, we trade with European countries so trade will continue despite the threats of the eu.

  11. @bsmith8950

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

What the eu want is redundant because the eu needs access to the UK's single market as European countries sell us about 100 billion more in goods then we sell them. So if anyone should demand conditions like that which the eu wants it would be the UK. So the eu is in no position to make ridiculous demands that no independent sovereign country could accept. So it looks like it will be no deal unless the eu gets sensible and wants to talk about trade on equal terms without any eu control over UK laws and institutions

  12. @francissaunders4050

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

Wouldn't it be more interesting to analyse the British offer? And try and work out why the EU believes it actually has a "level playing field" when Germany has bailed out it's airlines with state aid and doesn't believe the ECJ has powers over the German Courts? And why is it necessary for the UK Courts to be governed by the ECJ when, like Canada and South Korea, we're not even a member? Very odd?

  13. @johnnicolson467

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

I'd rather trade one hard border with England than the 27 we now currently have because of England.

One does not need to be a prophet to predict that a no deal Brexit is.the most probable outcome! EU’s wish list had never changed, it is only Johnson’s government believing that they are better at a bluff game!

  15. @Christian988.

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

So basically the short and long of it is
EU the UK cannot enjoy the same benefits and advantages As EU members

UK: says no matter what we will regain our autonomy we are a sovereign country nobody tells us what to do and we will under no circumstances compromise our autonomy when negotiating with the EU

the S4 finale ended on such a down note. The projection on the cliffs of Dover was poignant, but I really didn't like the direction things took from the Christmas episode on. Why didn't the writers keep the hung parliament storyline going longer? It gave them so many fascinating storylines. And if the Bojo character can get his MPs to do whatever he wants, where's the tension? The suspense?

Still, I'd like to think there are big things planned for S5. Even with all its flaws and missteps, I find I really miss this show when it's off the air.

What is meant by far conditions is that the UK should not try to gain an economic advantage by exploiting worker's rights and the environment so that they can flood the EU market with cheaper goods.

If not, then the EU will slap tariffs on them like it does with goods made in China.

The EU  already has anti-dumping and/or anti-subsidy levies on a range of products imported from China. UK will not be exempt.

Not surprisingly, Johnson has rejected the idea for obvious reasons.

Now that Johnson has shown his true colours, it is more difficult for him to paint a pretty picture.

Enough is enough. It's time to part company. The UK government has the choice – USMCA or EU.

However,  it should be considered that the US is very  likely to use a UK-US deal as leverage for a more advantageous US-EU deal.

Additionally,  US views European health and environmental standards as ‘trade barriers’.

Similarly, the US has different environmental standards to the EU’s. So the UK, in the unlikely event of a deal with the EU, will have to choose which regulatory system it wants to align with.

The US also tends to seek the inclusion of ISDS in its trade agreements. If ISDS were included in a UK-US deal, American investors in the UK could challenge policy measures that might disadvantage them.

You cannot rule out that a UK-US deal is very likely to include public services provisions. This could affect public services areas including NHS services,  education,  transport and prison services.

EU is aching for another NO DEAL. Stupid EU. UK should take her sweet time “negotiating.” EU will implode soon anyway.

  29. @paulleader7000

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

What does the EU want? This is an oxymoron, the EU had no choice in whatever deal comes. If they expect something ridiculous it will be a no deal. Far worse for Europe than the UK, considering we are a net contributer and net importer. If the germans dont want to sell us cars the Japanese are lining up to replace the germans. The EU is a protection racket wrapped in a flag.

Looking at EU countries a lot of them are looking at leaving too. So there soon won't be an EU to do a deal with. Not good for those countries that have relinquished their banking system. They will have to resurrect the Franc/Mark/Guilder/Lire/Schilling etc and open a national Bank PDQ. Better sooner than later. I've read some threads in German and seems many are hopeful of Dexit and expect the Dutch and French to do likewise

  32. @deathguarddavegoogley2022

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

Hopefully the EU will continue to overplay it’s hand and insist on controlling aspects of British national sovereignty. This will (hopefully) be unacceptable to Boris and then we’ll be out on wto.

No to Brussel what you want is not acceptable and you can not rule to people of individual Country.

  36. @alanedwards6491

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

Trouble is that both France and Germany have broken the EU rules on state aid etc over 50 times in recent years.

    Airlines….benefits work both ways

If Gibraltar is not respected, then neither will be Ireland

The EU will have to buy fishing licences, 5he EU dont get free fishing from Iceland..

The EU want access to UK security, it works both ways

Human rights become a sovereign matter for the UK to decide. The UK does not insist on the EU following other countries rules…so why would we submit to theirs with no say?

  37. @terenceclark6858

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

I don't think that fishing our waters for the best part of 50 years warrants the label of "tradition" the systematic dismantling of our fishing industry by the CFP was a gift from the UK….who have paid ever since for the act of benevolence … We now want to take back our true tradition … Don't even think of selling us out Boris … This is more than pounds shillings and pence!

The UK expects the EU to bend to his will because it still thinks of itself as a global empire. Spoiler alert: it's not.

The EU cabal can ask for whatever fantasy they want. What they will get is what EU Corps want. Free trade. The EU will buckle in the end in their own best interests.

It's not about what the EU want it's about what England want's lets get rid of these dictators and gain control of our country especially our waters

  43. @zlenkodmd

Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin had been already bought by Chinese. Gonna be real fun to watch UK being bought off by China after a no deal brexit

  44. @pickleonions4277

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

Bit of a silly question really everyone should know by now the EU does not want a trade deal with the uk it wants the UK under their control, absolutely the last thing the EU want is a freely trading UK on its doorstep. The EU doesn't like competition it is set up for trade protection so why would it want a free trade agreement with a neighbour it can't control.
The major European countries will be forced to push the EU into an agreement with the UK as they need the trade, trade barriers between them and the UK would be unthinkable.
Therefore the only answer to your question is a total tariff free agreement with the UK.

  45. @gavwan

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

    Control

  46. @henrybn14ar

    February 18, 2024 at 7:59 pm

The EU are masters of self-punishment. We ( 🇸🇪 and the rest or the E27) are the losers from their mercantilist policies. We are the ones who will lose if the EU slaps tariffs and other tariffs on UK goods. It means shortages and higher prices. Tax competition is an excellent thing. VAT, the Eurotax, is the most damaging and inefficient ever imposed on an economy.

The whole concept of 'access to markets' is a deception. 'Access to markets' is about allowing people to buy things. The EU's concept of 'access to markets' deprives people of the right to purchase freely.
