Since a lot of people are scared and think this means that the earth is dying, I need to reassure you. I grew up near mount Etna and this is not an exceptional case, in fact it happens every few years. I remember one time when even in my city, around 60 km from the volcano, we got covered with ash. Mount Etna Is actually very interesting for geologists, since it can generate almost all different types of eruption
