Waning Western interest in the war isn't really a thing, no matter how much Russia and its supporters here in the West may want us to think. Sure it's no longer front page news like in the beginning, but not much is happening either. Also, the conflict is now firmly in the hands of those responsible, so the general public is no longer a factor anymore after it expressed overwhelming support for sanctions and doing what is right.
Besides, I don't think anyone believes that anything short of complete surrender of all former Soviet states to Russian rule will bring down gas prices. And even then, at what cost?
No, the public is just concerned HOW we're going to manage coming winter, not at all whether we're on the right side of history.

russia is trying to blow up ukrainian troops it usually only moves forwards once theirs little to no defence left thats why theirs so much artillery around donbas without attempts to assault along side that artillery
but what ukraine is doing now charging out of cover to attack russians has drastically increased ukrainian losses and all the hospitals near the front/close enough to get casualty's to are full. added to that ukraine has already lost a lot of armour, so much that its even throwing new leopards into attempt and reserves from as far as odesa.
so ukraine is taking a very big gamble they could well lose the south up to dnipro maybe all the way to odesa if they spend to many troop and counter offensive fails
