Summary of the Hungarian section: while the title does not fit to Hungary as it condemned the invasion, supported all sanctions that are in effect, proviodes non-lethal support for Ukraine and supports refugees from Ukraine we still don't like Hungary as there is a democratic decay (which means they must be supporters of Putin, right?).
Some facts to be straightened: Hungary only opposed the ban on fossil import on pipelines to landlocked countries as they have no supply alternatives. In support of the statement (not really) Croatia and Bulgaria imposed exorbitant additional fees on the transfer from alternative sources.
I know that the financial support question (to Ukraine) will surface immediately, in which regard the Hungarian position was that it is substantaited but it should not be financed from loans and it's utilization should be carefully planned. Outrageous, I know, after pushing Hungary to accept the EC issuing bonds for the Recovery and Resilience Facility adding Hungary a share in this debt but excluding it from the financing.

As a Hungarian, I really expected the landlocked EU countries to say that we will sanction the Russians and supply landlocked countries with gas and oil from the west, south and north.
But that's not what they said, let's give up Russian gas and oil and freeze and starve to death in solidarity……
Our fellow EU members are very friendly, they can accuse, but not help.
Ukraine is more important than anything else, since the farmlands there are already owned by the Americans and the Dutch.
This was also revealed today.
The Zelenskyi regime is a corrupt thief, they fall one after the other, the Ukrainians are shot dead for American interests.
Hungary is not a Russian friend, but a Hungarian friend.

There is strong support for stoping the support of Ukraine and the long term unstustainable sanctions on Russia in a lot of countries, its just that the government of most of them doesnt care. Here in austria for example most people want our country to stay neutral on the issue, but the parties in charge just dont care

guys, we dont support ukraine with weapons and sanctions, but that doesnt mean that we hate them, we just want to stay neutral. Wouldnt you like to not let your own people starve or freeze to death? Orbán is just making the best he can out of this situatoin. i personally dont think that ukrain should get the whole worlds help for his fight, after all I dont see anybody go to help sudan and others, but if it isnt clear to everyone its a war between russa and the US.

As a Hungarian I'm deeply insulted when other Hungarians keep saying "we're a landlocked country and we don't have ports and other options…". Everyone knows deep inside that's bullshit. Yes, Hungary is a landlocked country but if the Hungarian government really represented the nation's interests, which they clearly don't, then they'd do everything they possibly can to cut down on Russian energy dependency just like Germany could do. Where there's a will, there's a way.

I'm sad about the situation in Serbia, and it's very complicated history. While majority in Serbia justifiably doesn't want to join NATO, Serbia could benefit from joining EU, culturally and economically (which is a separate discussion itself). People in Serbia feel like they need to choose a side between the West and the East, instead of being realistic and looking after their own interests. Due to many factors, some fascinating situations occur, like people supporting Russia's attempt at invasion, with all the horrors of war and the loss of human life, the same people that are themselves the victims of the NATO bombing, and vividly remember hiding in basements while the bombs rained down the cities. And they're loving Russia more than Russians do, disregarding that a lot of people in Russia feel oppressed and want to leave. Propaganda that is served via television makes my grandmother ask whether the EU will apart soon, and whether we will switch the currency to Rubles (Serbia currently has its own currency, RSD). And the saddest thing is that bright, young people are leaving Serbia to live in Western and North Europe seeking better life conditions, so the country is left without young, talented, working people…
