‘The borders of Russia do not end’ says Putin at awards ceremony
Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday, November 24, attended the award ceremony for the Russian Geographic Society in Moscow.
Putin was introduced to two young boys who showed off an impressive aptitude for geography, despite their young ages, by answering questions put to them by the president.
After nine-year-old Miroslav Askirko correctly defined where the Russian border ended, Putin joked “The borders of Russia do not end.”
The leader went on to add ‘that was a joke,’ as the audience laughed and applauded.

The European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday voted in support of a resolution to toughen up on China with the bloc bracing for a confrontation with Beijing over a trade deficit.
Ahead of the vote, Hilde Vautmans, the Belgian lawmaker who led the resolution, said that “Europe has economic power, it’s time we used it.”

Although this may be a classic joke, as borders are a closed loop, TASS did a 5 story billboard in Moscow with a gesturing Putin, repeating him without context: "Russia's borders don't end."
That's the message the state owned news agency wanted people to remember.

Why does Euronews choose not to translate the second half of his sentence, where he immediately added "it was a joke"? How lamestream media cut these clips is beyond appalling. I saw a clip the other day on a dutch MSM channel claiming that Putin had cut off a BBC journalist without giving an interview. Through youtube recommendations, at some point, the full length clip turned up, showing that they had simply cut the middle, where Putin stood and answered all the journalist's questions on the fly, although it wasn't a scheduled interview, but for mainstream they just spliced it together in a way that made it look like they didn't have conversation and he had just steamed off. Omitting facts is also lying. Anyway, in this video it is still great to see what a genuine and positive rapport he has with people, everyone around him always calms down and looks happy, especially kids. He is like a magnet, a true leader.
