The 200m track is just absolutely horrible when it comes to overpass any openent.
It really skews the results at the end.

US 400m collegiate finals in 2021 had 4 finalists. The slowest time was 45.89 which would have won this final. The winning time of 44.71 would be 15m ahead of the winner.

I believe van Diepen would have won if he didn't slow down at 3:28. Once you slow down, you can't make up for your lost momentum.
