You are paddleboarding next to 15 great white sharks! – CA police warn beachgoers
California paddleboarders found themselves in what resembled an outtake from ‘Jaws’ when the chilling announcement was made that they were just metres from a school of around 15 great white sharks.
In helicopter footage taken by Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the creatures’ forms, which the aircraft’s occupants observe are 10 feet (3 meters) long, could be seen through the clear water just off the California coastline.
A loudspeaker announcement could be heard coming from the helicopter saying that the area is “heavily populated at the moment with large great white sharks” and that the creatures have come “as close as the surf line”.
The paddleboarders are then advised to “exit the water in a calm manner”.

The European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday voted in support of a resolution to toughen up on China with the bloc bracing for a confrontation with Beijing over a trade deficit.
Ahead of the vote, Hilde Vautmans, the Belgian lawmaker who led the resolution, said that “Europe has economic power, it’s time we used it.”

Long before drones and lifeguards with helicopters we surfed 50-60 days a year from Stinson beach to Cabo before Jaws came out we never even heard of White Sharks or were aware of large numbers of sharks in the water. Once in a while we would see a fin or a shadow or to in a wave, but that's it. We assumed the shadows were likely dolphins. Were we that clueless?

Maybe these sharks were trying to fit in with people, so they were following the warning too. You see everyone lined up on the beach looking onto the water, and the sharks are standing next to them doing the same thing. 😀🦈
