An astonishing, jaw-dropping show by the most famous hatmaker in the world! FashionTV was front and center at designer Philip Treacy’s Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show during London Fashion Week, which was dedicated to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The evening was also dedicated to late fashion icons Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow. The catwalk was a show full of glamour, fun, emotion and some of the most bedazzled accessories ever seen! The designer secured a variety of costumes from Jackson’s estate that served as the foundation for the show with looks such as his notorious black and red leather jackets, band jackets and his silver sparkling gloves.
Treacy’s wild collections also consisted of original clothes that Jackson wore throughout his world tours and music videos. Treacy’s inspiration was derived from his vision on the future of Africa and its people happen to be wearing clothes by Michael Jackson. Headgear creations and other accessories included gold organic spiral masks, a black cornucopia filled with gold roses, tall feather headdresses, metallic sunburst crowns and one model even sported a big gold sun that sat right on her front face. Jackson’s talents, dancing and music were all dispersed onto the catwalk along with a gospel choir singing in back. It was an emotional evening for many as well as a celebration of fashion icons that have inspired the fashion industry for decades.

It’s SO disrespectful that the models are wearing Michael’s ACTUAL original clothes.. everytime it’s worn, there’s damage.. Branca really has no respect for Michael Jackson. Those clothes belong together in a museum or they could’ve been left for display in glass cases. Instead they were auctioned, scattered to the wind in all directions. Michael’s worst nightmare was White men robbing him & controlling his money as would happen to all black artists, sadly that’s what happened when Branca, a Sony guy, hijacked his estate with a dubious will

Apart from being a song writer, director, singer, choreographer, philanthropist, actor and humanitarian, he was also a fashion icon! Michael explored with make up, costumes, personalizing his wardrobe to fit his criteria and had this beautiful sense of complexity when exploring new boundaries. A true pioneer, my king; you will be missed
