The last pan european german project instating totalitarianism and censorship played out so well they wanna try it again! Thank god there's germany and unelected big wigs who can think for me and know what is best in my personal interest. Thank god that in order to consider everyone's needs, they entirely neglect their own. Trust the politicians like you trust the science!

Can I better find explanation on how it will impact me?

Its not limiting big tech. It's limiting free speech.

It is a very obvious censorship law as it is meant to ban dissent. Meanwhile the EU Commission itself uses microtargeting for advertising their mass surveillance plans (bannying encryption and introducing mandatory age and identity checks for using chat programmes).

Awesome, I love the idea of politicians in Brussels giving themselves the power to decide what information I’m allowed to access and to outright censor what they think is false information or hate speech. Doesn’t seem concerning at all because we all know that these people we’ve never voted for have only our best in mind ❤️

They are so determined to defeat Nazi "hate speech" and "misinformation" that they have… resorted to the tactics used by the Nazis to silence opposition.

This propaganda video is the perfect example of why this dystopian 'digital services act' is so dangerous to free society. It gives extraordinary powers of censorship to unelected EU bureaucrats. This is the 'Ministry of Truth'. They will completely control the 'truth' narrative, and censor all opposing views, ideas, and opinions. It is essentially the end of free online expression in Europe.

lol the fine for non complience is 6% for profit which is nothing, i guarentee big tech will just add an extra 6% to the warchest of operating costs, most companies keep more to the side in a war chest just so they dont have to learn tax laws and can pay the tax as a fine

    3. Example : you don´t like this or that political party – whoosh there goes your chanel !

for the illiterate EVERTHING they claim here is a complete lie !
Any criticism THEY don´t like will be censored no matter the content or validity.

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

Yeah and who decides what misinformation is? The governments? Remember all the stuff that was labelled "misinformation" during the pandemic and later turned out to be true? Governments can not be trusted to say what is true and what is not and should not have this power. It will just censor anything that they don't like. Huge scandal around head of the government? Corruption etc.? Well it's all misinformation, so internet-wide censorship and nobody can talk about it. Congratulations EU, one more step to becoming more like China.

I have been scouring the Internet all day for the justification of applying the EU DSA to Wikipedia. This governs for profit corporations. Like Sesame Street said, one of these things is not like the others. Why on Earth would Wikipedia need to be regulated so? Just because it has more than 45 million daily active users does not make it anywhere near is dangerous as Meta, Alphabet, Amazon, TikTok, Ali Baba et al.

  23. @guatemalantomcat

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

What a joke. Why does EU love being such a nanny state? Except it's not about safety or protection; it's about control.

  24. @enough_b

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

Finally, no more of that US free-for-all. Let’s go back to a correct interpretation of freedom of speech and crack down on deceit, hate and harassment. We don’t want the US issues here.

  29. @paweskrzeczkowski9597

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

This is nothing more than the introduction of Internet censorship

  30. @billbillerton6122

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

As an American, I'm reading between the lines here. This sounds like censorship wrapped in pretty packaging. While here there's no such thing as hate speech and the like, however we are subjected to data brokers and other businesses buying and selling our personal information. Many private companies still censor people here.

  31. @AchwaqKhalid

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

What they claim: protect the consumers

What they aim for: more control & censorship

  32. @bgtubber

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

1:12 "will give the EU the ability to erase content containing DISINFORMATION". Who decides what is "disinformation"? This will only enable even more censorship under the guise of fighting "disinformation". I do not approve of this. Mark my words, this will only restrict free speech even more than it is now. Let the people make up their own mind about things they see on the internet. You are insulting people's intelligence. We've seen too many times things being said to be "disinformation", "false" and "fake news" which later turned out to be true.

  35. @josephmartin1543

    February 24, 2024 at 3:07 am

Thanks , the DSA is a very important issue , specially now that monopolies continue to accumulate Private Data from Minors : Microsoft buying Activision ~400 million Users , many are Minors , while still forcing Users to use only the Edge browser and the Teams apps, manipulating what Users see and access , this could be as bad or worst as Facebook teenagers manipulating algorithms , a nightmare for Parents and Society. The US has a similar Legislation : "The American Innovation and Choice Online Act ", ideally they combine regulations to make sure Creativity and Imagination is expanded , specially moving towards Neurons to Machine Links , and Neurons to Neurons Links on a Global Scale , that will eventually create a very special energy signal. Options of Browsers , Messaging , Search, Content, Free Speech, Private Data Security , etc., are vital .
