Of course, what really matters about a leader is… a whole host of things. But in the grand scheme of it all, Rishi Sunak has something rare going for him, in common with Barack Obama. Regardless of both actually being part of the economic thin-top-crust, the fact that an ethnic minority can reach that position is a landmark achievement in a former empire's efforts to integrate across racial lines. It is one of not very many examples to show a way in which western society is objectively morally superior to the dictatorships they oppose.

Are there other examples? Alberto Fujimori and Thaksin/ Yingluck Shinawatra are the only other ethnic minorities I remember ever being democratically elected to the top position anywhere, but surely I am missing some. Paul Kagame, F.W. de Klerk, Josef Stalin, Shunzhi, Kublai Khan… minorities at the top do rarely happen, but mostly not by particularly democratic processes.

We (Czechs 🍻) used to call ourselves the leaders in middle Europe, and we were in some respects. We are now becoming a debt-driven economy based on quantitative easing, subventions, and redistribution. The analogy to drug additives is fitting here. There would still be time to stop this trend if we wanted. But the mob of 60% wants more drugs instead.

ZERO European leader is loved. While Putin is loved at 82%, Mohamed Bin Zayed 94%, Modi 74%.
European leaders are just prostitutes selling to the biggest wallet. Even France voted in a referendum to renounce EU. But EU and Fr Gov said to it's population " Fuck you, we don't care about your opinion"

Sorry, but your research is not right. Scholz is not unpopular because of the fight inbetween the coalition. He and the whole government is unpopular because they suppress the Germans with a different opion and even terrorize people with a different attitude. This has already started with Angela Merkel. The CDU and CSU are not conservative parties any more. And stop describing the AfD in Germany or the FPÖ in Austria as far right. Both of them are democratic parties. Do some better research or just leave it alone!
