   Correction: The 10H rule actually states that wind turbines have to be 10x their height away from nearest residential building, not 10x the height of the nearest building. Apologies

   nucleur is the safest form of energy and climate awear people should 100% Support if it they take global warming seriously. there aren't enough batteries in the world currently to support are energy needs and as much as some people want degrowth enough people don't support that to allow it to happen so we should embrace our most extensive and safe form of electrisity rather than worring about the potential accident. espesically if its a move away from coal. coal is by far the most deadly form of energy production.

   As a polish person I must say that does statistics are pretty wrong almost all the people i know and their family's approve of nuclear energy but I do live in small town not in a huge city or the capital so I may be wrong

   There is no good economic reason for nuclear plants to be privately owned. Despite what anyone feels about it, State ownership works far better for the Public interest & the profits can go into healthcare & pensions

   After Biden announced in public speech in 2/22/22 that the US military will not stop Russia from invading Ukraine, Putin invaded Ukraine in 2/24/22 two days later. Biden likely made that speech because he knew the US natural gas supply will replace Russia natural gas sold in EU thus he wanted to see Putin invading Ukraine so the US gas companies can make hundreds of billions from natural gas sales to EU. Whole Europe is suckered by the US.

   Poland decided to split nuclear power project between the US and S Korea due to pressure from Washington thus the US company is building regular nuclear power by the water and S Korean company building nuclear power in the middle of Poland. Poland originally only wanted to use S Korean nuclear technology which lead in SMR Small Module Reactor which is much safer than previous model with no melt down for SMR but Westinghouse suddenly sued S Korean company not to use basic nuclear technology which the US transferred decades ago to pressure Poland to use Westinghouse US company. Just few years ago Westinghouse almost went bankrupt due to unpopularity in nuclear power with nuclear accidents. Poland should be aware that the US nuclear accidents counts 2/3 of total nuclear accidents in the world worse than China and Russia. S Korea has been operating nuclear power since 1978 and had no nuclear accidents and its safety measures became the world standard for having safest record. Currently S Korea operates 24 nuclear reactors and building 4 new nuclear reactors now which S Korea gets majority of electricity from nuclear power. S Korean territory is small thus S Korea can't afford single nuclear accident like in bigger countries. S Korean R&D is also testing on spent fuel rods for recycling so less wastes. S Korean utility companies do not want to partnership with the US companies because they are trying to be middle man and collect all the profit and let S Korean companies to do the work and take on all responsibility with no profit by making it to bid on a job. No company with the right mind will do that. This is kind of crap you deal with when you get close to Washington which isn't too far from Russia or China. Henry Kissinger said "America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interests" which Israel took it to heart thus they built their own tactical nuclear weapons and not rely on the US nuclear deterrence.

    One problem this video doesn't touch about is that yes, you can replace the coal power plants, but you can't over ight replace all the individual coal heated homes.
    Yes an individual house using coal for warmth doesn't pollute that much, but you have to multiply that by almost every house in rural areas. I have family that live in small 10k – 20k population towns, 80% of houses use coal as heating and God damn the smog in the winter there is ridiculous.

    So making electricity cheaper would be a beginning, but you'd need a follow up investment into the electrical grid and housing to have a significant impact on the quality of air in this country.

    Nuclear failing are entirely a bureaucratic and funding issue. Both Fukushima and Chernobyl happened because of mismanagement and misfunding, NOT because nuclear is inherently dangerous, which these days it is not.

    nuclear is the only option if you want to go green, wind farms are useless, solor only works when there is sun and all produce more co2 emissions compared to nuclear. only solor power beats nuclear in terms of deaths per unit and this is tiny

    Great vid once again. Literally everyone should be building nuclear. Nuclear and gas are still waaaaay less problematic energy sources as wind, solar and wood pellet steam. All nuclear waste could also be recycled into making diamond batteries as well from now on. And its very safe now. The only real drawbacks are the initial investment cost/lack of backing by gov which creates very costly delays, and the vulnerability of having to shut off a significant portion of your power grid in the event of war or natural disaster if you concentrate power generation at a few sites like nuclear tends to do.
    There are solutions to this though like building many mini-reactors or using new power grid redistribution techniques by moving away from alternating current.
    Also lol the German government acting like its their business. Its not. They can demand safety guarantees and standards but really shouldnt be pressuring Poland from reasonable future-proofing policies. Germany also is not one to talk with their future-proofing policies on energy, military preparedness and integrating their economy with an unstable dictatorship. Poland has proved much more serious in terms of realistic long-term policy planning (not to say they dont do loads of other things wrong).

    Stop whining, Germany. Being worried about that 20% without taking in to consideration the likelyhood of a nuclear accident to begin with (which is basically nil) is like being worried that there's a 20% chance of your TV dish being destroyed in the event a meteorite hits your neighbour's house.
    You know what's worth complaining about? Scrapping your nuclear plants and replacing them with lignite burners.

    I'm from Poland, although I left it permanently for the UK ~10 years ago.
    I agree with the commenters that Poland should go nuclear. Having lived there, however, I have one caveat:
    Out of all the developed and developing countries in the world, I would trust Poland LEAST to adhere to safety regulations. This may sound harsh to the non-Polish, but many Poles actually take pride in flaunting regulations and you can find people like this pretty evenly distributed throughout all the strata of the society. Such an attitude, and so wide-spread makes a nuclear disaster a matter of "when" not "if"

    Unless they can really make those reactors foolproof now.

    There just isn't enough wind or sunshine in Poland to replace coal, the more so as Poland is invested in heavy industries, e.g., steel, cars, ships, other machinery, that require steady delivery of power and a lot of it. So, nuclear is the only alternative. In view of the recent problems with Russia natural gas, which Poland has to import, is not a good option.
