Why would anyone believe this man? Did not the fossil fuel industry insist for years that there was no harm in burning oil and coal? Did not the tobacco industry tell us that smoking was not harmful? Why? Because they wanted to continue selling their products regardless of how dangerous they are for their own profit. I don't see much difference here, except that AI may be even more dangerous.
