There could some hope for human kind but its fragile. Decades ago the invasion of Ukraine may have triggered a full blown WWIII. Such is our puerile mentality still squabbling over bits of land because of political or religious nonsense. Now at least we are trying to resolve our stupid bickering through dialogue and if that fails, financial sanctions. Democracy is certainly flawed and far from perfect. However at least is provides a voice for the people to protest without the threat of imprisonment or torture. Moreover and crucially, it provides the ability to remove any potential Dictators before they become too powerful and unstoppable (see historic examples where Democracy is lost). Currently the rise of authoritarian leaderships is worrying but I believe this a fleeting (relatively speaking) phenomena. It is also important to note that the most vociferous morons calling for war and supporting these Megalomaniacs are usually the ones farthest from the frontline. If you have trouble using your imagination with that statement, simple volunteer for the next available brutal war, witness the carnage, death and futility of it all and if you are fortunate enough to survive, then we can talk further. Humans are all related, just trying to live their lives on a very delicately balanced planet. Sabre rattling, flag waving and all forms of posturing are moronic actions often whipped up by people usually with other agendas. Logically it does not matter what colour or ethnic background someone is from. It is whether they are good or bad. I would rather be with good natured, intelligent and peaceful people that are not my colour or ethnic background rather than aggressive stupid immoral morons that are. We all need to strive towards greater understanding of reality with open free minds. This can only occur through unbiased education based on sound scientific reasoning for all. The most brutal and loathsome places on this Earth are usually the ones that prohibit personal freedoms especially access to unbiased education that is free from political or religious corruption and dogma.

A couple of times, you mentioned Russia is spending from reserves and that is not sustainable. It would greatly help with perspective if you added a forecast of the end of those reserves (at current rates), be in it weeks, months, or years.

I'm not an economist but I try to educate myself on this subject because of the rising cost of living and the dwindling value of fix incomes. It is making my existence back sliding into a tent at the corner of Main and First Street without a flush toilet, and a trash can providing heat by burning trash, instead of that beautiful hut by the beach in a tropical island. Many thanks to Google and the internet. It appears that there are two types of economies that are dominating and influencing the current events. Their pissing contest is bad for everyone. It appears that if both economies will not coexist, this civilization that our ancestors built 1000 years ago and all of these accomplishments and this beautiful planet will turn into a wasteland.
