The US needs to be helping build up the poor South American countries and gain many ally’s. And the EU needs to help Africa and gain ally’s and spread better democracy.

I personally hope for more european chinese trade and bilateral influence. Even in the face of xinjiang opression, that i do have to add paralells how the european states build themselves. I dont see a net loss in re orienting european trade with china, they are a raising power thats atleast for a time willing tp treat all trading partners on egual footing. To be frank political and economic multipolarity hasnt historically only benefitted europe but also the third world and i hope we can return to such a world

honestly political leaders really need to stop caring about what the US thinks or says, they've been screwing everyone for years and now they're having a tantrum whenever anybody wants to take their toys and play with someone else. We really need to kick them to the curb, they're like an abusive gaslighting boyfriend that people just need to dump and get over.

  6. @cekan14

    February 27, 2024 at 9:58 pm

Sorry, but why should we care at all about what the US thinks about this agreement? I know it has been stalled for other reasons at this point, but still, what gives Jake Sullivan the right to say such a thing about a third party's trade agreement? As far as I know, the EU is fully independent to carry out its own international relations as it sees fit.

Good, about time Europe stopped leaching off of the US, and started acting like a real world power again. The US should focus more on our Asian allies anyway, not those snobby Europeans.

It's all about the money in the end – no matter what horrible things the CPC government is doing back in China.
The EU is hypocritical when it comes to human rights and China.

  12. @Swift-mr5zi

    February 27, 2024 at 9:58 pm

The EU teaming up more with Russia and China on economic issues…given the track record of the EU as being anti-democratic, failing in the EURO crisis, immigration crisis, Germany is buying Russian gas which has annoyed the US and has also been engaged in vaccine nationalism. Not to mention that the union is literally willing to make itself more poor in order to try and hurt the UK. It is a political monster that has no moral high ground at all despite constantly acting like it.

It was time Europeans just admitted they're in it for themselves and do not care about working with the rest of the west, UK, US, Canada, NZ, Australia, South Korea, Japan ext. Maybe it is why both Merkel and Macron have pushed for an EU army, completely ignoring nato which Macron itself insulted.

I do not care what Biden wants. The EU should play China and the USA off eachother to get the best for EU citizens.

We shouldnt just not trade with China because of forced labour and not recognising Unions. In America you immediately get fired if you start a Trade Union.

China has terrible domestic policy but on foreign policy America is far worse.

China doesn't routinely make up an excuse to invade the Middle East and loot its resources. And after they do this Europe has to deal with an migration crisis because millions of people have had their homes destroyed so some oil barron in America can increase his profits.

This in turn leads to far right nationalisim which is a threat to the very existence of the EU

China will nationalise any investments in China at the drop of a hat any time in the future. Just like Mao did. The EU will not be able to do the same. Watch and see.

  21. @MK-qb7nj

    February 27, 2024 at 9:58 pm

So, after watching a couple more videos on this, the conclusion seems to be that EU is basically just falling further under Chinese influence since the concessions on china's part are "meager" and, given the ccp's nature and history, it wouldn't be surprising that they deliver upon none of the "promises" they made

So once again, these globalist EU elites are selling our people out

  25. @Bobols91

    February 27, 2024 at 9:58 pm

So basically US made a deal with China which gave it a competitive advantage over EU. Now they were expecting that the EU would just accept the situation without trying to balance it out by striking also a deal with China… LOL. It's not because there is a new administration coming that it makes it ok.

  26. @NoobKillerTM

  37. @technodestination4763

    February 27, 2024 at 9:58 pm

Agreement with CCP is fool's errand as they they will twist, break or exploit it whenever it may benefit them to do so.
Deals are made to hold other party accountable even if its not benefitting them especially in short run.
In this regard deals with CCP are not worth the paper they were printed on.

  38. @DiverseDialect

    February 27, 2024 at 9:58 pm

Game is only fair if both parties stick to the rules and play be them. China or I should say CCP will never offer EU a level paying field when it comes to FDI, free market, and easy movement of capital and people. People move and they will bring ideas, CCP will never allow that.

Deal is going to fracture, but how, time is going to tell.

Sounds like BS "agreement", which parliament should absolutely reject. Any text with China that says "China should", "China works towards" or "China tries" mean that China wont. They will only do things that are explicitly required of them and nothing more. The rest is just lip service. In order for this "agreement" to have any value, China must be absolutely required to ratify ILO agreements. Also that "commercial considerations" is just fluff and does not do anything unless these considerations are precisely specified. All failures to comply with these requirements must either void the agreement or have huge sanctions.
