The cdu and csu are not a coalition and never were they are sister partys (the csu being regional for Bavaria) and act as one "The Union" on a national level

Our former Chancellor's name is Schröder, not Schroder. If you don't have the ö available, you have to replace it with oe. So Schroeder instead of Schroder. Same goes for the Premier of Bavaria. His name is Söder, not Soder. So Soeder instead of Soder.

For the election, I think is going to be an green and Union (cdu/csu) coalition, as long the AfD isn’t high up, it’s an party with more and more right thinkers and realy anti eu, and I don’t like That, I am my self ethnicly Turkish born and living in Germany and a far right party is the wrong thing for this beautiful country

If the Union will rule Germany for more 4 Years I´m gonna cry.
This Party stands for stasis and nothing ever changes in my Country.
I can´t understand why so many people are still voting for them.
For me personatly a coalition with the SPD and the Greens would be perfect but thats unlikely to happen.
More realistic would a a traffic light coalition between the Greens, the SPD and the FDP.
Everything is fine aslong the Union or the AfD are not ruling my Country.

As a citizen of Armin Laschets hometown I've got not a single good thing to say about this man. His decision making is horrible, he is corrupt beyond limits, he is an opportunist among opportunists and he even seems to lack basic human decency when citizens of his own state have been hit by a catastrophe not seen in years.

If this man really becomes chancellor of Germany we're all in deep trouble.

Our warning systems in Germany are useless even when they work as intended. Recently there was a siren alarm in my city, I looked up the reason online, but nothing was published anywhere. I then looked up what I was meant to do to find out what the sirens meant and I was told to turn on my radio. (Which, yeah, sure I've got one of those, it's back in 2005.)
I then turned on the online version of our local radio and what did I hear? Music. No info on the sirens. After a couple more minutes the sirens gave the all-clear signal. I never found out what the initial alarm was about.
We also have siren tests every couple months, but you really need to go out of your way find out out what they mean. No information on it is posted in public offices or spaces and schools don't teach it either, allthough it would only take 10 minutes. If you are 60 or older you will hear about the fact that the sirens are tested on the radio (cause, who else own a radio?), but it is never explained what to do in an actual emergency.

The crypto market has been unstable people ask themselves if this is the right time to buy the dip or sell their hodlings. Before jumping into conclusion I think you should take a look at things first. BTC price fall means analyst remain divided over whether it is entering a bear market or is just suffering a brief correction on the road to more record highs. Investor who bought early are still in profit despite the recent price crash and they also earn by trading I'm still an investor and still I'm winning by applying the same method in every trade you can also become a winner today. we should follow the way of earning more regardless of the current market (bulls or bears ), which is trading. buy the dip and trader ….I have made over 5 btc profit not just buying the dip but implementing tradess with s!gnals supplied by Antonio Ethan's . you can easily get to him on =at w°h°a°t°s°A°P°P[

As a Dutch citizen, I'd also attribute part of why we don't have any casualties to our outstanding flood defense systems. The Netherlands is known for it's protection system across the coastline, but we also have decades of defensive preperation along rivers under our belt. Instead of always building in close proximity to the rivers, we also give rivers room to overflow in fields exactly for situations such as these. This greatly decreases the amount of water flowing into populated areas, as well as decreasing its power. We still have a lot of damages, but no casualties is an incredible win for our efforts.

  27. @tobiwan196

    February 27, 2024 at 6:53 pm

There are 2 problems that were associated with flood crisis management:

    (1) Germany uses a smartphone app to alert citizens and not a cell broadcast – for data and privacy protection reasons. But only 10% of the people have that app installed. It is the same situation in neighbouring Switzerland, while almost all other EU countries use cell broadcast systems to push the warnings onto mobile phones. This is now heavily discussed in Germany.

    (2) The warnings were communicated days in advance, but the population did not take the warning seriously. You have to consider that the "rivers" were only 60cm (2ft) deep under normal conditions and reached levels of more than 8m (27ft) within just 3 to 4 hours. Rescue workers even searched cars on an Autobahn using sonar as the road was up to 12m under water. Few expected that kind of rapid and extreme flooding. Even when the fire department knocked on doors and told the residents, the people often did not believe them.

  33. @chavbristol2793

    February 27, 2024 at 6:53 pm

The crucial difference to the death and the destruction in comparison between Germany and the Netherlands is not in the different warning systems. The difference is the different shape of the landscape. While in the levels of the Netherlands the water flows relatively slowly and without a large gradient, in Germany the water was collected in the river basins in the highly structured grounds of the Eifel. In regions outside the river valleys, the floods were hardly pronounced. The same problem was in Belgium, where numerous dead could also be lamented in the river valleys. Fortunately, the rainfall was not as strong as in Germany.
