   The EU has inflicted a punitive trade embargo on Australia for over 50 years. No matter what Australia does; raises standards, lowers standards, give sheep pillows to sleep on, whatever, nothing will change because the EU has long singled out Australia to be excluded.
   Australia needs to walk away from the Europeans who treat us like an enemy, it’s just a waste of time and money believing that they will change to deal fairly on trade.

   Could you speak about Pacific alliance (AP) were Chile 🇨🇱, Perú 🇵🇪, Colombia 🇨🇴 and Mexico 🇲🇽 are trying to build a common union and free movement of capital, people and goods? And maybe if there is an opportunity of partnership between them and EU

   I think the EU’s concerns are less protectionist and more standards. Which I guess is kind of protectionist.

    I see the eu are trying to sell their version of a level playing field to oz and nz. I really dont see why they would bother with eu, oz and nz are just going to end up making sacrifices, usually ppls jobs. Its all one sided and eu are hostile negotiators

    If the EU is going to remain protectionist in regard to agriculture products then Australia and Definitely New Zealand will gain little in having a free trade agreement.. Agriculture makes up a large part of Australia's exports and in the case of New Zealand the majority of their exports.. Australia is a very large mineral and energy exporter as well..

    EU are dictators, just ask the uk and many other countries where the EU global trading practises ( dumping cheap goods on market ) have totally f@cked their local markets. All done by the EU dictators.

    It is a pity many here don't understand what happened, but you would have to have been born near the end of WW2 to understand the financial position Britain was in and appreciate the four countries had a diminishing GDP. America and Canada were the only countries with a manufacturing industry that was undamaged, Canada was small compared to USA. Britain had to align with Europe to stand a chance, but she was honorable, she sort to get the commonwealth countries the nest deal possible and succeeded to some extent.

    They had ridiculous regulations with the UK, the shape of a banana. No thanks.

    Let me look Dutch cheese vs Australian cheese? Either one is ok. Beer Australian beer at least as good as the major European ones. Wine unless you're an expert anything of $10 /liter is good for social gatherings. Australia has excellent produce better than anywhere else all very affordable.

    The english laws act was clearly a lie and a breech of te Tiriti, and was not covertly removed until apparently sometime in 2007, through the said wills act of 2007.

    The said crown or said government as said state however were injuncted 17 August 2005, by way of an application filed through the said court of appeal, which was then appealed to the said supreme court of New Zealand 22 August 2005.

    Thus far, the said supreme court have refused to hear the appeal.

    The said crown or said government as said state are in illegal possession of the Seal of New Zealand and Tangata Whenua Estate.

    The english subject through its' Sovereign have not paid for their Crimes of War against Tangata Whenua O Aotearoa, and continues to this present day, enforced by the said military and said police, and is said justified by the said court's, all of this instrumentation being illegal, it all being Now Injuncted.

    Therefore, this said general election has been delayed as of today, and has been moved to another date of Infamy, 17 October 2020, where on this day, the then chiel justice James Prendegast in 1877, made his now famous infamous statement – the treaty is a simple nullity, but also through this very same decision, attempted to validate, and tried to make legal, as the 1st said chief justice to do so,
    english laws act 1858, also using it to remove without obstruction from the said defendant Wi Parata, illegally, land that had been stolen from him by the bishop of Wellington, enforced by this said court.

    English laws act 1858, was the attempt made and executed to turn a colonisor british subject into a settler, owing no allegiance to its Sovereign, or, Tangata Whenua Sovereign's, being the proof of and for its' treasonous behaviours – 28 May 1858 to 14 January 1840 to 17 August 2020.

    I wonder if you ever went to a grocery store in Australia, which was quite unusual as a european…..because they always rounded up the amount you owe ……..and never give out change in copper coins……you pay 19.49 at the counter but get change for 20.00…maybe this was just a Melbourne thing??

    But anyway, Australia was very good to Germany in the trading business, seeing that in 2009 they had german made streetcars / trams circling the dcitycenter of Melbourne….and dont forget the german made mono rail made in Berlin ( which failed there ) but got sold to China / Japan…….I still remember riding on that monorail in Berlin city center an adventure, back in the 1990

    There is a problem with a across the board free trade agreement and letting everything go wild to the market, in that it can undermine the self sufficiency of a country for its basic needs.
    If Australia can produce food cheaper, and out compete local markets simply by being able to scale up more. Then in the long run a country can be totally depend on imports for its basic food needs.
    And that is leverage in global politics. Countries should try to keep and produce most their basic needs themselves. Or as a equally depend deal, both having similar amount of skin in the game.
    One of the aspects of the Netherlands is that they have very high food safety stands. E.g. for hormones in meat. But imported food, often don't meet those standards. This creates a situation where the imported food doesn't have to meet the same standards, can be cheaper, and out compete local businesses, because local businesses still have to uphold the rules, making their products more expensive. The failure in thinking here is, that the Netherlands should focus more on quality control from what shops are allowed to sell and how much of basic need products their allowed to import, than trying to control it all through a trade agreement. The problem often is, that trade deals undermine local food safety laws, because trade agreements enforce penalties if free trade is inhabited. I see this more in a failure in negotiation, and a lack of foresight/insight. Lowering food safety standards is not acceptable, and often results in a no deal.
    Higher economic growth is not everything. The freedom to choose your own rules and regulations, or independence can be worth more. Though in the current global politics arena, it would be best to have more trade deals with other countries. Even if it is just to become less dependent on the big communist bully that is eroding freedoms around the world, and that we let continue to silently commit genocide because of its economic might. Eu deals can be a bit of a mess. The EU has lots of different people, with different values, cultures, languages, and different wealth, and different local laws, which can making reaching a consensus on things that does not benefit everyone really hard and a long process. Sometimes it would be better to let a deal go through with some EU countries opting out, than to let perfectly good deals for the majority breakdown.
