The ethnic Russians who are in love with their fascist Russia neighbor, should MOVE, and stop burdening real civilized country. I also NEVER understand there nonsensical anti gay stance. But perhaps like Putin most of them are gay themselves and this is explained through self hatred. Not necessary! Nothing wrong with being gay, it is just as natural as being heterosexual.

As someone who’s somewhat ethnically Russian it always saddens me to see things like this (as in ethnically Russian people being showed as against the west, pro war, etc..), not because of any pro-war leanings and such, but because there are many (of course not all) ethnically Russian people who are against this war and somewhat fascist ideology, with many having left the country of secretly being pro-Ukraine/anti war, and we know that this war probably can’t result in anything that doesn’t have Russian culture and nationalism being shunned as in post ww2 Germany, which is understandable, it what it is, Russia started this war, and committed all those crimes, but still, I love this culture and this country, but not it’s government, and it’s just honestly so sad to see this, knowing how it possibly ends.
Also not entirely Russian and don’t live there so I might be wrong but I do have close family who do live there/ used to before the war, and I can’t help but wanting to say/write this, even if it’s a bit incoherent or just unimportant.

The video is professional and made with the best wishes and heart, but unfortunately hopelessly biased.
The reform party has ruled since 2000, only a brief 1,5 y break from 2019 April to 2021 Jan. Over 20 years, having grapped as many positions as possible, having a serious say in all spheres, specially in governing and guiding. And the mainstream media – first of all! Their views and people are always ok, and whoever is opposing, is automatically stamped as of lower class, less educated or simple-minded, from rural districts and one could find such to-be-fooled-and-used-people from behind a booth. Constant belittling. (Now, using the Ukrainian war, the conservatives are also been blamed of being not supportive, or even pro-Russian!). All means allowed and utilised. Resembling the Communist USSR times – sure, the founder of Reform party Siim Kallas (father of Kaja Kallas) was a Soviet nomenclatural elite, a high ranking communist.
Does Estonia have to become the only EU country where only "One country, one leader, one opinion" is allowed?
Now think once more of the face of the old man, founder of EKRE, Mart Helme, who is father of the present leader. His face bears the traces of the continued pressure on the Estonian people, the harsh history, and …??? future. The video being purposfully biased is best noticed in the fact that the actual leader of EKRE, another person, a young man Martin Helme who is always polite and responsible, was not shown at all.

main talking point of elections WAS yes, the cost of living and just months after the elections where over the reform party allready started to blast the news about raising the taxes, this party is fameous for raising the taxes, and allways trying to balance the states yearly incomes/spendings. PS since the creation of E-voting by the reform party, they have won every single elections ever, and to add more salt to it, the folks who operate the "e-voting" happen to be former classmates or in some other way very old and close "friends" of the leader from the reform party. and its not 25% that are ruskies here in estland, its more closer to the 30% , ppl from outside might thing that nothing, but wait and u will see, when our countri goes to shitters, a lot of ppl will not stand up and fight against the ruskie invaders, bc why should we when our own "reform" party fuks our own ppl day and night left and right. the facade of Estland is nice and united, but behind the curtains lays are heavily corrupt state. i know what u must think, i talk like a ruzzian propagandist, but i welcome you to visit us and u will see it with ur own eyes, all u have to do is ask around and look around, not mutch time will pass when u realize why we are called very closed and cold ppl, bc we are after all estonians.

Well, the video says that Estonia "wants to get rid of Russian (speaking) schools. So I can understand how those commentators here who are from somewhere else and don"t know about Estonia, would understand it like we are banning education in Russian. Really bad wording in the video. Estonia is getting rid of the two parallel education systems where the Russian schools were a world of its own, giving really bad quality education (confirmed by PISA tests). What Estonia is doing is starting to give its Russian population equally good education to Estonians. That education will be in the official language. We do not have the means to create another parallel education system in Russian. There are no more teachers because in Soviet times they came from Russia and now they are pensioners and there are no new teachers. Russians can found as many private schools in as many languages they want, as long as they follow national curriculum.
As for Soviet time monuments: They have not been destroyed but moved to other locations, like museums, war cemeteries… Or do you think we should have a statue to a Soviet soldier (who also invaded our country) right next to our National library and an old Lutheran church, right in the city centre, next to the Old town? Would this be the place for a Soviet soldier? The statue stillexists, in another place. And all these Russian war fanatics can bring their flowers to it each May 9 or when ever.
The video is kind of careless in what it says.

I want to expalin one thing as there is this debate going on here as to Rusian allegedly being banned and so on: The point of estonian being the official language is that all Estonians should be able to live their lives in estonian if they are in estonia. That means getting service in Estonian, medical care, education, also be able to work in Estonian. This means that my boss needs to be able to communicate in Estonian with me while at work, concerning work. All information needs to be available in Estonian. And so on. This does not only concern Russian. Also English and whatever other language. For example, in universities, professors are obliged to make any materials accessible in Estonian, translate them themselves if they do not exist. (There are certain exceptions, but basically that is the law). Bolt and Wolt and such are required Estonian, not just English. So this is not something that exists with the purpose of bullying Russian. But to guarantee Estonians access to everything in Estonian. This does not ban other people doing stuff in their language, founding schools in their language etc. Just that I and everybody else in estonia has the right of access to services and information in Estonian.
If we didn"t do that Estonian would very quickly evaporate into a kitchen language spoken by a few grannies in their homes. Most Russians would not bother to speak or learn Estonian. Most Bolt and Wolt employees would only resort to English. etc. And Estonians would have to be the ones switching to Russian in a lot of cases. That would be absurd.
Estonians generally speak several foreign languages. it just an essential part of their education. Foreign languages are considered "basic subjects" at school, together with Estonian and mathematics. (So it is very surprising for me that all these young Ukrainian refugees in Estonia do not speak English, or so many young Russians in Russia: don"t they learn it at school?) Estonians will always be able to speak some other language of choice with anyone. But that is not the point. We should not have to, in our home country. Other than with tourists. I also wouldn"t have to speak English while working in Hesburger with a student from Bangladesh or Pakistan, studying in Tallinn for 2 or 3 years already. So this is not about Russian. But it is sharper with Russian, of course, because it has all these historical connotations while English is a neutral language, functioning just as an international language. No Englsih speaking country has ever tried to invade us, kill us, deport us, take away our land and homes… Ok, today"s Russians are not to blame for this, I get that. But that doesn"t change the psychological fact that Russian has a certain meaning to us. It works as a trigger. It is a discreet and touchy subject for both sides. And only real and honest and respectful communication between us could change things for the better. As long as Russians are going on about how they are discriminated against …..
Besides, it is ironic they would talk about human rights when those very same human rights are tampered on in Russia. They could never talk such shit about Russia as they do here talk about Estonia without being arrested. Ironically, the Russians" human rights are a zillion times better protected in Estonia than they would be in Russia. Here they hav eall the same liberties to express their (sometimes) stupid opinion and nothing happens. There is a Youtuber Daniil Orain who is doing videos about what Russians in Russia think about all sorts of things. And mostly people are afraid to answer. they either run away from the camera or say they are apolitical and have no opinion. A lot of people say that human rights are a bad thing, dictatorship is better because it makes a country more efficient. Human rihgts only create "pederasts" (a Russian word meaning gay but in a really resentful way). Here you are, Russians in Estonia, and you want your human rights (which you all have). So, are human rights important or do they create pederasts and therefore are of the devil? In Estonia you are full of opinions and you express them. Without fear. Just think about that for a minute. Kind of a double standard here.
