A German court has ruled that a Muslim schoolgirl must take part in swimming lessons.
Thirteen-year-old Asmae who was born in Morocco and now lives in Frankfurt argued the school activity was against Islamic principles of modesty. She also objected to seeing boys in their swimming trunks.
“I don’t want to join the swimming lessons at school where boys also take part. I would take the lessons privately in order to learn to swim. I am a normal person and I want my freedom, my religious freedom,” she told reporters outside the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig.
The judges ruled that religious freedom does not mean that a pupil has the right not to be confronted by the behavioural habits of others. The school in Frankfurt backed the court’s decision.
“We have a basic rule that all pupils swim. This has to be agreed and signed at enrollment when the children are registered here at this school,” explained Margaret Roessler, the school’s head.

Okay if ur religion doesn’t allow it ….. there are 52 Muslim countries that u can go to …..what do expect ? Them to built 2 pools in schools all over Germany just cause a Muslim girl can not accept the German policies ? TF 😂

yeah well i am christian but i understand why she not want to cover her body… i not belive in hair cover! but deffinitly sexual parts should cover like chest, upper thigs, vagina and all of the erogen part what use for sex! :/
yes they can use any type of swimsuit! but change the whole time period is just too much job… by correct cover it should not be a problem! :S

Stripped boys are halal in my country. Girls watch them bath enjoy being around them, no problem, girls gets sexually aroused by that, no problem. But even one single piece of cloth is misplaced from girls body is haram. Wtf! Im really sick on my own Islamic society.
If i don't wear revealing cloths in front of girls, not a single girls talk to me , or say even hello. My area is going crazy and Mollahs like these very much and they never talk to boys for modest dress, only force girls to dress like this video, and the girls enjoy that here. Being full dress, but seeing boys naked. And they say bad things about western culture where girls are on bikini.

Swimming lessons are a matter of child safety. Religion is irrelevant, and Germany is not an Islamic country. They do not need to bend important safety rules that are designed to protect children in order to accommodate any specific religion. In this case, I have to agree with those who say she can leave if she doesn't want to follow the rules. I lived and worked in an Islamic country for three years. I abided by their laws and by the rules of my employer, regardless of whether I liked those rules or not. This included never eating or drinking in public during their holy month of Ramadan. And it was not easy to drive or walk around during summertime with nothing to drink. There were also plenty of things that did not align with my personal faith either, but nobody was forcing me to be there. I live here in Germany now, and there are also some rules which do not align with my faith or values at all. But nobody is forcing me to live here either.

As long as she is allowed to wear a full body swim suit like a burkini I dont see the issue. You can not be exempted from certain subjects or classes because of religious reasons. If you feel otherwise then eirher homescjool or go to a private school which accommodates your religious leanings. Relocation back to her familys country or any other muslim country is also n option, IF she is genuinely serious about this. Its unfair to lovw to lands totally opposite to yours and then seek to change them. Afterall Europeans can not movw to say Morocco and demand it changes its culture and schooling system because it goes against the european cultural ways.

Swimming in such condition with other students is prohibited as per Islamic laws.
This judgement contradicts freedom of basic religious rights. The judgement must come according to the religious rights. Europe doesn't care humans rights of Muslims live there.

I love Germany. I love German people They are good and fair. I learnt elementary German language. I have a certificate from German Mexmullar cultural centre. But I could not practice it.
I am multilingual translator therefore I love all languages. It has big advantages.

I lived in Germany for a year as a nanny and volunteered for the compulsory swimming lessons. Its really fantastic. As a Muslim woman I am sad that this has to go to court. The young girl can wear her islamic swimwear and take part in activitites. No one was looking at anyone. Europeans are not as hyperfixated about bodies like her culture. And again, I am a Muslim woman saying this. Poor girl and her family are projecting heavily their fundamental learnt assumptions.
Also, the Quran clearly guides us in abiding by the rules of the land we live in. Poor girl, unable to enjoy herself.
