A mass pro-EU rally in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv brought together an estimated 200,000 protesters in the city’s Independence Square on Sunday, December 15.
The huge demonstration came on the same day that EU enlargement chief Stefan Fule announced, via Twitter, that talks on a trade deal with Ukraine had been halted.
Four weeks of protest have yielded little result, but opposition leader Vitali Klitschko says most of the country wants closer integration with Europe.
Klitschko told euronews: “70 percent of the Ukrainian population wants to see Ukraine as a part of European family.”
US Senator John McCain became the latest high-profile foreign politician to support Ukraine’s pro-EU activists.
McCain addressed the Kyiv crowd, saying: “Peaceful process and peaceful protest is inspiring your country and inspiring the world. Ukraine will make Europe better, and Europe will make Ukraine better.”
On suspending talks on the EU trade deal last month, Ukraine’s government said it would be refocusing on Russia instead.

Vodafone has said it continues to be hit by regulator-ordered price cuts, economic pressures and competitionm around Europe.
Its latest results did meet expectations, but it suffered a worse than expected 5.1 percent drop in service revenue in Germany, its biggest European market, and a 4.5 percent fall in its home base – Britain.
Spain was down 10.6 percent and Italy down 17.6 percent, as cash-strapped customers made fewer calls and did not upgrade their handsets.
The world’s second-largest mobile operator said it sees no prospect of improvement in the near future.
“Conditions in Europe remain challenging in northern and central and southern Europe,” Chief Executive Vittorio Colao told reporters.

I don't get that right to be forgotten. So first a person uses a free service, and then that same person wants to hide it has used that service and asks that service to make extra costs. If I tell a friend he has to forget me that sounds like unreal no, he was my friend after all . That is metaphysics. Can someone explain please? They told me at my job that to forget a person ain't easy. They re appear at the most inconvenient occasions and they never can guarantee that a person is totally forgotten. Strange figures
