when the trolly dollys are expected to carry out structural engineering checks you are flying with the wrong airline I reckon, then the assistant pilot has a look and says "yip it's coming apart at the seams" The look on the passenger's faces is one of absolute horror and disbelief,

The panel coming off might indicate there’s an invisible damage or metal fatigue affecting the structure of the aircraft. Emergency landing was the right decision. Don’t take Amtrak to Texas.

Yall being scared of cosmetic panels when the aircraft isnt even damaged outside and its very safe cargo planes doesnt even have cosmetic panels and a plane even managed to land with a cracked nose from a bird and some engines can even handle more than 1 wingstrike and run without damage or clogs

"You can't do that" What's that flight attendant's reasoning? You can't film a pilot checking out his plane?

I would have held a piece of kleenex up to it. If it kleenex sucked towards the hole I would make a beeline to the drink cart.

    That's not a crack. lol
Looks like a section of the plastic paneling popped out, that's all. The paneling is purely aesthetic and hides the isolation and wiring behind it. Nothing to do with the actual hull of the plane. Still better to be safe and sorry though.

Most likely it's a maintenance issue..but it's always better to be safe than sorry..especially if your responsible with so many lifes..including the critters in cargo

It looks like it’s in the inside but as a precaution, they should’ve landed

  15. @bigbronzespider

    February 28, 2024 at 11:24 pm

The panels on the inside have nothing to do with the integrity of the airplane.

It’s on the inside yes but things could go badly still and it makes the flight unpleasant for the passenger who know nothing about the mechanics of airplanes

I like my pilots to have a “better safe than sorry” type of mentality. No trip is worth a life or a lifetime of trauma. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 for landing the plane!

    February 28, 2024 at 11:24 pm

The interior PLASTIC paneling has zero bearing on the structural integrity of an aircraft lol.

Planes are pretty flimsy. People don’t like to think about it. But a Plane without the engines attached, No passengers and weight on board. Are just empty aluminum cans with wings.

Have to be honest…. and say that if I was a passenger on that flight, there’s no doubt I’d have been completely freaked out and imagining being sucked out head first through that massive hole. Ssshhhhhllluuuurrrrp.

Don’t know what all the fuss is about. It’s just the plastic cabin wall trim that has popped out. Give it a push and it would have gone back into place. It’s nothing structural to the aircraft, it just makes the cabin look pretty.

This is cosmetic and has zero to do with the structural integrity of the plane. Cargo planes don't have the plastic wall panels.

If a plane crashes you have like a 0% survival rate. Anything out of the ordinary like that should be an emergency landing!

THAT'S IT LADY KEEP PULLING & CRUNCHING THE PANEL UNTIL IT FALLS OFF!!! IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE ANY EXTERIOR IS INVOLVED BUT THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH TO SCARE ANYBODY!!!! I HATE TO TELL HER BUT MOVING THEM AWAY FROM THERE ISN'T GOING TO HELP WITH ANYTHING IF IT CRACKS ANYMORE!!! AMAZING!!!
