I’m not an Arsenal fan but this Arsenal side under Jonas Eidevall has got to be one of the most likeable and popular teams in football at the moment. I love the philosophy he’s instilled at the club. Added two more to the tally of major titles take them to 59 major and European titles. Play really beautiful football, play the game the right way and continuing to break records. The whole team both management and players are humble, articulate, intelligent, respectful and role models who are using football as a platform to make a positive difference in the world.

I'm sorry but the lack of diversity in terms of race and class and inclusion in women's football in England means I have no interest in the WSL. You have Rachel Yankey 1 of the OGs of English women's football and in her era there were so many black players where nearly half of the England team was black in her day. So something has clearly gone wrong in the switch from the Semi-pro to the fully professional era in terms of youth scouting and youth development where Black English have become almost non-existent.

The FA have admitted they have made a mistake in the switch to professional era of shutting down academies and schools of excellence for girls in the big diverse cities like London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds and putting them in rural white areas. This dumb decision has inadvertently created a financial barrier to becoming a professional women's player, because there is no support for girl to travel to these academies if you are from these big cities. So this has turned women's football in England to a white middle class sport because the only girls whose parents could support their travel costs got access to elite coaching as girls to be professionals. So Lionesses players like Toone, Russo, Williamson and Kelly come from more middle class background. So in this environment you don't get, Yankey, Alex, Scott, Hope Powell, Kelly Smith or Fara Williams working girls in game because you no have financial barrier to getting elite coaching that do not exist in the men's game and a big reason the women's game has become less diverse in the last 10 years.

So to me the WSL looks like the NBA before they let the black players in. So when I watch the Prem, I know I am watching the best possible players in England. When I watch WSL I'm just watching the girls who had financially comfortable parents to fund their access to elite coaching as kids. So I know deep down I am not watching the best players in England because the FA stopped scouting and developing girls from the diverse big cities. Imagine how much worst the men's team would be if England stopped scouting and developing kids from the big cities like the women, which makes the decision and exclusion even more dumb.

    PS.

It also doesn't help that WSL clubs like Arsenal are using their money they get to buy mediocre Scandinavian players, like it is 1992 Premier League, instead of investing in youth development to find more talented players in their local cities. London has 40 Paralluelo, Caicedos and Lauren James, but Arsenal would rather spend money on Ms Big Viking Bird from Sweden, who is good in the air and nothing much else. The WSL clubs also have to take the blame for not attempting to make the women's football more inclusive by not looking for local talent in the big diverse cities.

The biggest problem is going to be the gap between the lower teams and top four teams Arsenal Chelsea Man United and Man City can play in bigger stadiums other team can't

Sky please give this crap its own channel, the vast overwhelming majority of viewers and subscribers do not care one bit about this WSL nonsense, stop piggybacking it off the mens game .

Watching them trying to have banter is somehow more cringe than them playing 🤷🏻‍♂️
