A couple months back we put out a video discussing the rise of the German Green Party and their strong polling in the Spring. Since then though things have changed, with a number of scandals resulting in a Green collapse and a CDU surge. So in this video we’ll explain what’s happened and how the Green’s have seen such a shift in attitude.

The biggest hurdle to any leftist candidates is that the media which is always corporate owned despises them. They believe leftist candidates will mean less money for the ownership class and will give more power to the peasant worker class.

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

Well, maybe there is a similar story with green parties elsewhere.
I have always been very pro green policy and concerned about the environment but I never felt the green parties represented me.
Let's take the example of what is going on in Portugal with 2 green parties:
    1) PEV (part of the CDU coalition, not to confuse with the German CDU) was once called the "watermelon" because they "are only green outside, inside thei are red". Rarely you see them speak about the environment….
    2) PAN a much recent party that road a wave of popularity, as been extremely eroded by scandal, after scandal, and everyone realised they just exist to support the socialists, not to do good for the environment…
Sometimes I wonder if green parties nowadays aren't just people trying to…. Get somewhere…
I bet there are great green parties elsewhere but I seem to see a tendency with green and some of the new parties ridding waves of popularity of being nothing more than some clever marketing move to get into power.

Baerbok is an infiltrated stooge for the USA. The Greens leadership have been colonised and the Greens members need to wake up or be destroyed.

  16. @alex30425

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

Funny how all these Scandals suddenly emerged when the Greens started polling ahead.

  17. @alanjmcc

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

Nice summary. Attributing everything that happens in the CDU to Merkel is off base. So is failing to recognize that the CDU bump in Sachsen-Anhalt is not the fault of the Greens, but because people were putting their anti-AfD votes where they thought they would do the most good. Your spelling and punctuation suck. Mostly, as an American, I look to Germany with envy. They've got somebody plagiarizing stuff in the public domain; we've got a fascist takeover of a democracy in progress, and they are both being called scandals? Give me a break!

  18. @avdohodzic775

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

Here is just about doing better homework that is done by CDU over ''greens''. CDU is doing the most corruptions ….how would you otherwise explain the fact that somebody like Marcel so long on power ….that is not due to her capabilities for sure !!!!.

  19. @rickyyacine4818

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

  20. @sparhelt718

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

In Germany, swearing causes your party to lose popularity, while in Hungary, a wire-tapping scandal barely goes noticed. Ridiculous.

  21. @neuemilch8318

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

The political campaigns up to now have also been quite a shit show. There was a lot of propaganda mainly directed against the Greens and even the Initiative neu soziale Marktwirtschaft (basically a lobby organization to restrict workers' rights) ran a campaign in several newspapers that portrayed climate protection measures as freedom-robbing madness. Was pretty funny from several points of view. Oddly enough, the 2 scandals a week involving CDU politicians got much less attention than the train crash of an election campaign the Greens are currently committing. On the other hand, not really surprising. It's hard to look away from such a disaster. But despite the open partisanship of the established media, the stupid hustle of the right and the deadly embarrassing appearance of polikern is the clearly more exciting than usual. So 6/10 from the entertainment value 2/10 for the populism and propaganda shit And the slow dismantling of our democracy and then selling to the highest bidder. Thank you CDU, I hope one day you will find your way out of the asses of the industrialists.

Literally nothing has changed in the political land scape of Germany for the last 30 years or so and the opposition has so little power that every shit ass law ther feel like passing gets passt with no meaningful resistance and when you get a bit of hope for change ther just change there motto or something and suddenly is all great again I wich ppl could think for mor that 10sec at a time

  23. @lompeos7388

  24. @codymurphy3493

Hey if this constitutes a scandal in Germany.

    History wipes their brow.

  25. @mishatestras5375

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

The worst thing about the "corruption" part is that the sum is 25.000 Euro during the last 10 years.
The CDU-Politicians including Armin Laschet used the Pandemic to enrich themselves by 300.000 Euro during 1 year.
This is just Green Party bashing and it is disgusting that german politics now does the shitshow campaigning from the USA.

Also the book thing is assissination. I don't complain if Terry Pratchett is using the image of Santa for his Hogfather without crediting Coka Cola. It is an Essay and a Novel. Shitty? Probably. But most books coming from Politicians and Celeberties are worse toilet paper.
I can't state enough that scientific citations are NOT NEEDED in random books all around. How stupid is this?

  26. @edsiles4297

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

With these numbers, CDU could still win and form a coalition government with the Greens, and possibly the FDP (if you don't know about this one, it's the other center-right party in Germany, it's mostly focused on small-government fiscal conservativism and individual freedom).
If the FDP joins a coalition with the christian-democrats and the Greens (which nearly happened back in 2017 and could've happened back in 2005), it would be the first time Germany has what they call a Jamaica coalition (that name comes from the colors of the party: black for the CDU, green for the greens, yellow for the FDP) on the federal level.

  30. @tilmanmai

    February 29, 2024 at 5:34 am

@πlaster: << I think the Thumbnail is very misleading >> you´re quite wright here as the thumbnail almost sounds like Russian fake news to attack the green party which is very outspoken against the North stream 2 pipeline. And I would not write off the party as of now. There are still a few months ahead of us until we (Germans) will vote and things are and will keep happening, that will contribute to the voters decision (such as the current floods)…
