Witness tells of violence in Benghazi
An eyewitness to the violence in Benghazi told euronews that authorities acted violently to put down the protests, and said there were worries about soldiers at the city’s airport.
“We were attacked even though our demonstrations in Benghazi were calm. We have no intention of splitting the country, no plan to divide the Libyan people, from neither the left-wing nor the right-wing. Our unity is eternal.
All the population of Benghazi are one people. Gaddafi’s son talks of sedition and division, but that’s wrong.
