This is usual for US, if you start to take over take their monopoly then the government will come after you with tariff. If that doesn't work they will run you to the ground by banning goods

It’s a bit rich to accuse China of unfair trade practices whilst the EU and US have accused each other of the same thing. A market functions well with competition and every country has the right and domestic pressure to service their home grown corporations to boost domestic welfare. It seems this was the premise that started the EU US competition, they wanted to help their own people. Ask if instead it was India or Brazil or Japan who became the home of a new competitor like COMAC, I think they’d act the same in order to maintain a duopoly, which, would ultimately hurt countries buying aircraft if they’re forced to only choose between the two. It’s clear all corporations aim to establish a hegemony and not healthy competition and the smaller the pool of competitors, the greater the consumer suffers. It’s hard to find sympathy from people of other countries for corporations that only really aim to benefit their own governments and people. There should be more competition from other countries not even just China such as from India or South Africa or Japan. It’s like not letting other banks from other countries compete on the open market like Deutche Bank or BNP Paribas and just blocking them out to have only Standard Chartered or Citibank compete. It's worth noting the lack of reactivity from OMC on such huge subsidies from either side of this duoligarchy.
It's not surprising that emerging companies receive subsidies too.
But what's shamefull is that both Boeing and Airbus join forces to try to keep their duoligarchy alive and it appears as normal in the EU and in the USA.
I means, all theses activities threatens worldwide competition and it affects ultimately either aircraft quality, overall prices and state finances!

The threat of a Chinese aircrafts competition is as serious as its elevators and laboratories: the threat comes from their failures, not their competence. Await to see how those Chinese airplanes dot the globe with accidents (and they will blame Westerners with sabotage, of course).
