I don't think Russia wants to take over the whole of Ukraine. They can't even, as especially in Western Ukraine people are more Western focused than Russia focused.

Well, now Mariupol has been taken. Russia controls 20% of Ukrainian territory. Anyone still thinks Russiaโ€™s retreating?

Anyone else worried this retreat is a signal for a tactical nuke?

They will never go back. They will retreat for a while to plan a new strategy. It is not a problem of "if" but "when" they will push more troops to decimate and completely destroy Ukraine with artillery. Their success in ww2 with Katiushas make them think that this is the way to kill blindly everything. If they can not occupy, they will destroy everything as they did in Mariupol. Putin do not know what means forgiveness. If you are against him, you must die. He does not know anything else and so was Stalin. They never care about their soldiers and millions of death. The empire is more precious than the life of the soldiers. If Putin is replaced because he is sick or something, somebody else, much worse can replace him in the next minute.

Putin visits a fortune teller and asks her, " what will happen in the near future."
She says; "I see you riding in a limousine through a large crowd, the people are happy, laughing and cheering, jumping for joy, hugging each other and all have big smiles on their faces!"
Putin asks her; "Am I waving at them?!?"
"No," she says, "the coffin is closed……..!"

.Sacrificing one's own people in a war that, in the end, will culminate in “`"not joining NATO"“`, ending irrationality and contempt for life, both Putin and Zelensky.

Zelensky, enough of the cute speeches while your people are murdered. Everyone knows about the fascism that exists in Putin, and that there is no way to beat Russia militarily and you knew that. So why insist?
It shouldn't even have started this war, it should have said to NATO, “`for later“`, simple as that.
Negotiate peace where Ukraine should never have left.

I still think it's about the Gas – Ukraine found large gas reserves in their East, and in the Black Sea off their coast.
Russia controls Europe because they need Russian Gas. Ukraine could have developed their gas fields and sent it directly to Europe (with shorter pipelines) and that would weaken the Russian monopoly. If they stop now, it's because they've taken the areas with the Gas. But as there is still one very large gas field in the West of Ukraine, I expect the invasion will continue.
