Sorry! The promo code we mentioned at the end of the video wasn't working up until now. It's now been fixed so feel free to start using code NEWNOTES – Jack

I hope they introduce a €1 banknote. Maybe plants and fauna as the new theme? Really glad that cash is still being supported – fed up of this attitude that cashless is inevitable when cash is so useful!

  3. @unown_

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I wish they would do the same thing as with the coins. One side of the banknote would be the same for each banknote and the other side has room for every country to put something on it representing something from their country. Like a landmark or a historic figure or whatever.

Still missing Dutch design for banknotes, the sunflower, the lighthouse, the snip. Bright colors.

I like the current euros and I miss the 500 euro note

I as a European am saying thank God. Thank God that I will have a beautiful bank note soon.

Najbolje bi bilo da su istih dimenzija i neke zelene boje kao dolar i da postoji novcanica od 1 i 2 eura lakse je i jeftinije nego da se nose kovanice .

  11. @isgoga96

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I would improve the design even more by giving more details but not changing it, perhaps placing the allegory of Europe as an image as in the Brazilian reals but leaving the architecture

  12. @MAP2023

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

New designs each DECADE. Ridiculous. There are TWO designs already.

  13. @7Hellzz

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

The Europa Series design looks good and has solid security features. Currently I don't see the need to update them. Probably they got envious on the swiss franc's ninth banknotes series which look fantastic.

  14. @kakab66

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

1: make a one Euro bank note!!
2: Some significant personalities for European history should be included i.e: Shuman, Jean Monnet etc.

  15. @koljarzg

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I just hope the new note design will be narrower.

  16. @blackfalcon1324

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I know this might cause some tension but it would be cool if they featured historical landmarks. Yes, there are fears that as there are only 6 notes but 19 countries, only a small number would be represented but… still i think it would be cool.

  17. @uranusneptun5239

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

So basically those new notes will come when nobody is using physical money anymore…

  18. @Makrelacz

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Euro banknotes are pretty bland, but they are bland for a reason – it doesn't insult anyone. I'll wait on what they come up with, but I'm afraid only think that can pass is different kind of blandness.

  19. @Dragonsphinx

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I think this is kind of a pointless project. I understood the UK’s switch—security being at the heart of it. Would argue that’s a good reason to update the design a bit: easier to tell if you have a new goodie or a bad oldie in your hand. But just changing the Euro note styles because why not? Long and expensive solution to a problem no one was complaining about. I do t give a hoot as such, I’d adjust, but the current ones are just fine and pretty in my opinion, so…where is the need for this vanity project coming from again?

Crypto is threatening cash as the escalator threatens the stairs

  21. @StefanH

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Cash doesn't crash, cash doesn't need internet, cash doesn't update, cash is the most straight forward way to pay

we should all have are own cultural design

  23. @Ali-qq4ri

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Not the paper ones but some EU countries have very ugly coins.

  24. @jacky_mo

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

This might get younger people on board and make them use online payments less, which is always a good thing.

  25. @raphaelnikolaus0486

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I'd suggest you do a co-operation with Half-asleep Chris maybe discussing possible future designs, a future theme, or even what a 21st-century banknote should look like, which features it should crucially have (and why).

  26. @lottery248

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

just bring back 500 euro as a limited issue .-.

  27. @nadirg6055

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

    There's also a 500€ note T.T

  28. @hyunjinki1995

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Yeah go for new design as long as not a personality specially politicians or a famous person as it might lead to trouble people from each sides have their own says
It can be the European scene (like education for 5 workforce on tenner music and art on 20 the government on 50 then so on ) or European birds or why not flora and fauna series
Or maybe it features all of picturesque rivers / canals or body of water of Europe or even mythical European characters

  29. @hyunjinki1995

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

0:46 why there’s no 500 euro note it’s a shame after all if we buried already his memories nowhere in a forest
It is still accepted in luxurious hotel and boutiques and even in banks
It just 500 is retired but still alive still there

  30. @hyunjinki1995

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

    Happy 20th bday euro
And British should be thankful with the euro making British Pound or pound sterling a 4th major traded currency after the euro was launched and French francs and duetschemarks/ dmark paved away for GBP
    Before euro made
The big four was US dollar , Deutsche Mark, French francs and Japanese yen but now its USD EURO THEN YEN AND THE POUND

  31. @FlubberFrosch

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I don’t see any need for change here. Even if it did, the whole current generation of euro notes should stay for at least 10 years. The past change has lasted long enough, I would like to have some consistency.

  32. @super_lekker_ding

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

    Vegetable theme +1

I want a 1€ banknote that can be used in strip clubs.

  34. @HurBenny

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Reader’s digest: Germany thinks there is not enough mosques on the design and would like to reflect their policy on all our money. Thankfully the UK is no longer around to wholeheartedly support the idea, but the Nordics won’t disappoint and take their place as long as there is rainbows somewhere on the notes. And somehow this will be sold as “a great step for feminism”. Have I missed a spot ?

  35. @tdawgluxor1060

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Why do you leave the 500 Euro bill out of the video??

  39. @thomasmoll8822

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Nothing wrong with the “Ages & Styles” theme, IMHO. Not only has it been nicely implemented (on both the Windows rectos and Bridges versos), but it was also a smart choice since it helped to avoid endless discussions about widely acceptable motives.

So if the ECB really feels like wasting money, they can just give this theme a refresh.

  40. @oida10000

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

I am cash fan, but I don't see the need for a new design. I am still a little bit crumby that the dropped the beautiful violet 500 bill. (Though 6 bills is a nice amount of bills to have.)

  41. @mr.mrs.d.7015

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Sounds like a waste of money with or without crypto

  42. @ChasedByPenguins

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

New notes are fun. Plain and simple. Completely unnecessary but fun. So… sure go ahead and change them.

  43. @geraldmerkowitz4360

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

"Relatable" isn't the top feature I'm looking for in a bank note.

  44. @asparadog

    March 4, 2024 at 2:50 am

Keep the buildings, change everything else. 10's and 50's look the same to me (colourwise).

great news for banknote collectors!! 🙂

  46. @ice00monster

Maybe put Hitler's face so all of them can relate.

  47. @roberths7282

They should make them polymer, slightly different sizes and include braille
