Europeans Are More Optimistic About the EU: Why?

Published

on

NordVPN: https://nordvpn.com/tldr

After Brexit, some anticipated a shift in European sentiment and believed other members would follow the UK’s lead. But 6 years on, the bloc seems more cohesive than ever and optimism is high. So why is this? And how did the EU become stronger than ever?

We Bengalis have a saying, "He proved that he wasn't dead by killing himself."
Similarly, Brits exited, showing others why you shouldn't exit the EU.

It is amazing how so many of the comments below have proven wrong. The eu is in a terrible mess with multiple issues, many self inflicted. So proud we left.

Post Brexit woes? Is that not just post-COVID, post Ukraine, post supply issues woe? I'm pretty sure Germany isn't doing too well either and they are the heart of the EU.

Nigel is that one rebel student. That hypes himself up to walk out, thinking everyone is going to do the same and follow his lead and ends up leaving alone.

The people of Ukraine May wish to join the EU but When Ukraine eventually wins this hard fought war and win their freedom and sovereignty the last thing they will want to do is give it all away by joining the eu.
Far better options would be to have closer ties with Britain with a security pact and free trade agreement.

    March 4, 2024 at 7:56 am

Also the rise of the right in the eu is worrying. The UK is the only country in Europe and the eu without a far right party.
For all those people in the comments below, I wish you well, but the eu is just not that good.
There is no domino effect as there are no other member states able to leave, 20 are trapped in by the single currency and others by their limited size and geopolitical situation.
As right wing government get elected they can change the eu from within.

  18. @user-iz3dq5sz3h

I expect now, in 2023 this must look very embarrassing to those that made this video. Europe is in recession and looks politically irrelevant on the world stage. The UK has created AUKUS and over 70 free trade deals as well as membership of the trans pacific trade pact. The NHS is getting even more than the figure on the side of the bus, please google NHS annual budget.
There covid vaccine response was embarrassing and unlawful as well as their Ukraine response.
We are now the only genuine fully democratic sovereign country in the whole of Western Europe.
Oh yes, I nearly forgot , we are selling more things to the eu than before the referendum.

What the west solution of illegal immigrants ? Just shove them to countryside I mean god forbid the city's already in ruin now the country side too also why not just kick them let me tell u why ? They don't want too !!! They are slaves of corrupted ngows who really calling shots and most of electors right and left are all the same the left are so pro for immigrants the right are ( against it ) 😂 or at least pretend to be his pro as left is so why people are optimistic about eu ? Well we they east gonna migrate west and get better job and the west gonna run off to east just to escpare illegal immigrants mark my words also rip Europe
