UPDATE: In the video, we say that the Presidential Palace had been 'eerily quiet' at time of writing… well, yesterday (Thursday) evening, the President – Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa – addressed the nation, laying out his thoughts about the situation. Whilst doubling down on the view that keeping João Galamba as Infrastructure Minister was the wrong decision, the President stressed that now is not the time to add additional uncertainty and political turmoil into the life of the Portuguese people.

Crucially, he declined to dissolve Parliament at this stage – but said he would be more assertive in his relationship with the government.

Now it's the president's turn to be suspected of illicit favoritism, abuse of power and influence peddling. All because he facilitated a 4 million euro medical treatment for two recently naturalized portuguese children.

Once an empire, now a small piece of land ran by incompetent melting pots of half a meter fat bozos, with no vision or strategy.
Just now, on the news, reports of increased money coming in to the state, in form of taxes and fines.
Yet, this country is becoming worse on all levels.
Lack of teachers, hospital services closing down, violent crime made up by *migrants*, inflation and taxes, as well as disintegrating roads and corruption, and useless bureaucracy, that's how it is.
Portuguese people suffer from the Stockholm syndrome, it seems.
With an equally passive president without COLHÕES (balls), our goverCANCERment is allowed to steal and deal all it wants.
    R.I.P Portugal.
Or should i call it hog wash, satless little bread of a socialist vacation colony for foreigners, and the up coming 2nd modern paris, with knifes stuck in your kidneys.

As a 42 year old Portuguese that even working, has to live in his parents house, I hate my country, and was never happy. Every attempt to be happy, the government would scr3w the economy. And then it has been ALWAYS THE SAME PARTY SINCE 1974!!!

  19. @MrJovision

    March 4, 2024 at 2:09 pm

For more than 70 years, Jewish corporations have invested in propaganda for discrediting and intensifying economic crises in Portugal. It went wrong for them last time, because in the last international economic crisis, Portugal was the country that came out of it best, that is, the country became much richer and stronger than it had entered it! You should talk about the countless centuries full of famines in northern Europe, or how in the USA poverty is alleviated with a simple "it was during the depression". Not long ago, a documentary justified American misery with the "depression", but in reality it referred to the eternal economic crisis that still existed in the USA 30 years after the stock market crash! War on Norway! Against the gigantic oil theft in Brazil, which is what CURRENTLY accounts for more than half of Norway GDP!

    Well described facts.

I just think it's ridiculous some comments as if the politicians around here were the worst in the world! Looks like they haven't heard of Trumps or Boris Johnson??

We only have the politicians we deserve, otherwise we wouldn't continue to elect them after 20 years of bad governance, poor growth and a bailout in the middle

Please cover more stuff about Portugal. You put it better than all the Portuguese media that is being controlled by the State. This government is a joke. There is always some scandal, nothing is done about it and the President is always complacent. This government is a disgrace and needs to be exposed! Portugal had already many problems, but instead of these issues being addressed, they are always making sure nothing is done about it, profit from it, make sure its public (as you can see), and then nothing really happens… it just dies out. Portugal has many problems due the fact that these people solely want to invest in tourism as well. There are so many strikes, the public transportation doesn't work efficiently and some people end up dying due to the lack of doctors at the emergency units of the hospitals. There is also human trafficking, illegal immigration that is getting out of control, suicide rate of police officers, police officers getting beaten up, rising of poverty, low salaries, high taxes, expensive housing at ridiculous prices, cities are becoming more dangerous… The amount of money that was used to build a stage for the Pope, while people live paycheck by paycheck, the way that the Portuguese people just ended up being forgotten and not taken care of… just take a look at it and you will have plenty of issues to talk about.

There’s no political crisis in Portugal…only the usual thing…”jobs for the boys”…there’s entire families working in politics like real Medieval clans from top to bottom and vice versa…corruption it’s endemic a system that was created since the 1974 revolution not even the “atomic bomb” can cleanse the country yet they’re always waiting for tourism to save them always begging for help from the EU which has also become endemic…nevertheless it’s the best country for anyone to go to good people great food great wine cheap beer a coastal line from north to south with the best sandy beaches that everyone can find a beautiful countryside specially the north…what can go wrong in this garden of Eden!!?? Politics only!!!
