One of the reasons the Wagner group didn't get more over public support was a lot of people felt, "no matter how we feel about Putin, I want my son to go to school, I don't want him to be a child Soldier" Wagner is very identified with Hardline nationalism in neo-fascism even though they tried to rebrand themselves as moderates suddenly, it's kind of his this as if Arkan and his Serbian tigers rebelled against Milosovich suddenly.

This is an informative video, but it keeps falling just short of touching on the extreme depoliticisation among the Russian public that is behind their responses to these events, and the lack of resistance in Rostov. It's also just ridiculous to suggest that Wagner nearly toppled Putin, or that this was ever a primary intention for them.

The one in Turkey was a self-coup organized by the reigning dictator, please don't use that as an example.

I would not compare Turkey and Russia elections. Turkey is full of fascists, they would elect a door knob as long as their leader pretends they’re the finest country in the world.

  17. @Christian_Bagger

So… there’s a mutiny… nothing really happened… no severe damages really… Putin got away to Belarus. And if just so happens that he could mobilize his nukes with him, and centralize his power on different fronts and Prigozhin just so happen to be in Belarus as well, and no one is saying anything about the nukes. This “coup” is orchestrated. It’s a typical Putin move.

Something doesn’t feel right I don’t think Vladimir Putin, and wagner the group leader are on bad terms if they were Putin would send more then two helicopters to face of about 20,000 troops. I think that Putin and the Wagner are on good terms and “staging” all of this bs so that the ukraines advance were the Russians wanted them to advance so they can get better position

The shortest military coup in history. Less than 24 hours. What effect did it have on the Russian government? Zilch. Is there a danger of regime change? Not in the slightest. Has the economy been damaged? No. How could it. Since sanctions were imposed the Russian economy is stronger than ever before. See Richard Wolf. Jeff Sachs, Scott Ritter. Of course the US propaganda machine has swung into action. To no avail. The global situation remains the same. Countries outside the West still refuse to support NATO/US. Honduras is the latest Latin American country to sign a deal with China. The Middle East giants are turning away from American hegemony. The US is as i write carrying out a coup in Peru. Thousands are protesting on the streets. Hundreds have been murdered by the US troops. It wont work. It will be quickly reversed. Peru's resources will be brought under public control.

No hope in war repent of murder today

    Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Come to Jesus Christ today

Jesus Christ is only way to heaven
Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void
Seek his Holy Spirit for guidance peace and purpose today
Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today
Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today

    John 3:16-21

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

    Mark 1.15

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

    Hebrews 11:6

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I really doubt that the reaction of the population – or rather lack of it – during Wagner's march tells much about Putin's support.
Russians seem to be, overall, fatalist. Regardless of whether they support their leader or not, they will mostly consider that whatever happens happens. Additionally, they also seem to consider politics to be very personal, as in political characters evidently fighting directly to the top and working for their own interest being a normal part of the way the country works. If Wagner's leader manages to take power, then he is the de facto leader simply because he could take it and Putin couldn't keep it.

For the most part, Russians aren't much invested in their politicians. They assume that their politicians use their power for their own ends by default because it appears as a given. That someone with enough strength would strike to seize power is therefore a given too. It's just the way of things.

Besides Putin's hold on medias, his high approval also comes from the mere fact that he is the leader. If he is Russia's head, it must mean that he is the strongest and therefore the best leader available. For that reason, Russians are unlikely to risk their own lives to protect Putin because him needing that help would mean that he is weak and therefore unfit to rule.

Unlike Turkey that has democratic values, Russia only has "The strongest wins" and "The winner takes all".

  24. @LegionIscariot

    March 5, 2024 at 12:39 pm

I think its because during the Ukraine war Wagner boss has shown way more strength than Putin. And Russians are attracted to that. Putin is looking weaker and weaker. I genuinely believe Russian people believe if Wagner boss was in charge the war in Ukraine would go better.

  31. @alextabet9247

As bad as Putin is, his replacement could be far worse. The hope is for Putin to step aside and allow for a more enlightened system to take its place. One that videos itself as part of the European community rather than its own confrontational entity that continuously looks to conquer its neighboring countries.
