Putin to US over Syria: ‘You’re seen as relying on brute force, not a model of democracy’

Published

on

Russian president Vladimir Putin has written an open letter to the American people, published in the New York Times.

In it he warned that any military action against Syria could trigger terrorist attacks against the US. He added that millions of people see the US “not as a model of democracy but as relying solely on brute force”.

The letter comes as the US announced that it welcomed Russian proposals on the handover of Syria’s chemical weapons to the international community.

The White House said that it believed Moscow to be acting in good faith. “We have seen more co-operation from Russia in the last two days than we have heard in the last two years,” said White House spokesman Jay Carney. “I don’t have a time line to give to you. What I can say is that it obviously will take some time; there are technical aspects involved in developing a plan for securing Syria’s chemical weapons and verifying their location and putting them under international control.”

Hell, I hate this. As a former refugee from Soviet Communism I hate agreeing with Putin, but I must. This whole affair stinks of a false flag operation by CIA stooges. There are now tens of thousands of imported Islamists in Syria fighting the last secular Government in the region – with the support of USA. Common Yanks, do something, impeach Obama and jail him and his crew as war criminals. The decline of USA is in progress, at least save some face.

So is America suppose to be the first super-power in human history that doesn't use force? Russia is just butt hurt that they didn't win the cold war.

Americans are no race. Shame on you not to know such an obvious fact of the matter. If someone were to require an exhibit to demonstrate the sub-standard intellectual level of a typical american nincompoop, surely he may count on you.

Thank you. Obama admitted to giving to the muslim brotherhood and knowing about the 8.21 attack prior to. I mean what other kind of proof do these people want? We know chemical weapons were used, by who? Obozo is saying Assad, I'm saying Prove It! I'm like Putin, prove it, otherwise I'm right, and Obama's word is BS!

How is Obama a "traitor" when it was Both Bush Jr and Bush Sr that started the wars out in the middle east. Obama is not the one sending more Americans to die. I swear you people don't know what the fuck you're talking about. You jump on a band wagon and spout out fancy rhetoric in the hope readers are ignorant to the history that got America in the mess that it is in today, Don't forget that It was repbublicunts that committed America to the middle eastern conflict based on treacherous lies!

CIA fund proxy wars across the world, and their clients were once alQaeda whom would not have existed if not for the CIA – and the CIA to non-U.S observers is the biggest terrorist organization in the world. Bay of Pigs was a classic example of America funding terrorists in an attempt to over throw a foreign government. However the plan failed and America was exposed as the United Snakes they truly are. I wouldn't put anything past the CIA, their track record speaks for itself.

" Syrian government is willingly to get rid of their chemical weapons "

Assad went on record saying he wanted America to pay the 600 million for the disposal of Syria's WMDs, yet in the same breathe claims it was his decision alone to remove the weapons and not America's threat of force.

However it makes no sense to build an arsenal then willing want to destroy it and ask the very people that threaten force upon you to pay for the removal.
Obviously The U.S threat has made Assad shit his pants

Oh really…. Okay…. Try growing your economy nearly $2 trillion under 10 years. Nah. Only Putin can. Also China is gonna bury the US in a decade or two. I'm in my early twenties so I'll live to see how the US carries itself.

Well, the US keeps hurting itself in the global PR press, especially as no country can truly trust the US now as it's been spying on them. No moral qualms at all. You may as well as take the Constitution of the US and use it as a toilet paper cause the US is not the US.

  23. @SuperDave619

    March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm

Really? That's funny because the Syrian government is willingly to get rid of their chemical weapons but the rebels staunchly refuses to agree with the US-Russia agreement on turning over the chemical weapons. Putin knows that it's not the Syrian government. I mean, Syrian government knows they can't use the chemical weapons because that's the red line and they have everything to lose. And it was near their capital. Rebels? Nothing to lose, everything to gain by using sarin on population.

  24. @SuperDave619

    March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm

Oh bitch please. Putin inherited a country with a GDP of under a trillion dollars. Then from 1998 to 2007, he made it have a GDP of $2.3 trillion. Failed superpower? Oh yeah. The US still used the failed superpower's rockets to go to the ISS.

I'm not infuriated. Because China will put the US in its place. Matter of time. Hell, China owns 97% of world's rare metals. Good luck with that. Russia's on more friendly terms with China than the US. American Exceptionalism? What about American Obesism?

  25. @SuperHeroINTJ

    March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm

The school system is part of the problem. It ain't about money but goals.

  26. @SuperDave619

    March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm

Putin's hypocrisy is so tiny compared to Obama's. Jesus fucking Christ… Obama's got a Nobel Peace Prize for destruction of nations. Now, Putin's more hypocritical? Fuck, no. The reason his letter pissed off the White House is because it directly touched them at the core. Never before has a great country wrote a letter in the particular country's public instead of a letter to the president, hidden from the public's view. That's what made them mad.

  27. @SuperDave619

    March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm

Besides, why are the rebels made up mainly of foreigners? So you are saying the US never made al-Qaeda? Sorry to say, the US did create that group during the USSR-Afghan War to beat the Soviets and now they became the enemy. Now they're fighting the Syrian government and igniting the war? Sorry to say, it's all the fucking US's fault. They keep fucking up with their American "exceptionalism". Stupid Yankee doodles.

  28. @SuperDave619

    March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm

Not true. They were not regarded as Russians but mainly as Soviets. The Russians never commanded the troops to kill the children in Afghanistan; the Soviet government did. Big difference. It's like saying the US remains Confederate States.

Really? Why did they threaten to bomb the Syrian government with their cruise missiles? That's not arming the other side? The US are indirectly responsible because they turn blind eye to the Arab nations supplying the arms to the Rebels. That's typical…

  29. @SuperDave619

    March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm

Excuse me? Russia never existed during the USSR-Afghanistan war. The Soviets disappeared and then the Russians came into being. Now, let us talk about who is arming who, the US is arming the al-Qaeda who have committed the 9/11 attacks on the US. Or did the US want 9/11 to happen? Kiss and make up with the enemies who have killed lots of civilians? Now that's a sign of a country with fuck-all morality. The Russians still have morality and that's saying a fuck-load.
