Current electricity costs are being driven up mostly by fuel prices,
If we switch to Nuclear power and give greater incentives to buy electric cars (including subsidising and prioritising lithium battery production) this problem will subside substantially over time.
Also, many countries are going for the practical short term measures of taxing fossil fuel company profits to discourage extortionate profiteering
Overall though, Society’s rejection of Nuclear power was a massive mistake, and the environment has payed dearly for it as we continue to rely on fossil fuels for our electricity

I really don't see the correlation between the pandemic and increased demand for energy. Yea, demand dropped during the pandemic, but today's energy demand, now that the pandemic and lockdowns are effectively over, should look a lot like 2019, there was no problem back then. I think governments like to blame unrelated things outside of their control for failures in their policies.

Such a pity people dont do a bit of homework. They simply blame the Special Operation or War. This video is months older than the start of the war and highlights the obvious issues. The pandemic was always going to be the biggest White Elephant to strike the West. I was 100% right about that. National debts have doubled along with stupidity. The press realise they can pump any rubbish, similar to the governments pumping junk into peoples arms so easily and readily. People are the problem. This reality was always there its just happening a bit faster now after the pandemic. Reversing to coal etc is really stupid. I would be building bridges and making friends with anyone that I had recently slated on a daily basis, especially if they could help me with at least one issue, energy !

TLDR: Germany is about to collapse as a manufacturing nation due to lack of labour, the signing of free trade agreements with competitor nations and the end of cheap Russian gas.
Germany built its economy on a three legged stool:
The first leg was guest workers. German manufacturing was carried out by manufacturing was carried out by conscientious post war Germans, and with Turkish “Gastarbieter” – guest workers doing that manual lifting.
Things changed after unification and new EU rules, especially the Treaty of Amsterdam7 in 1999, when visas, asylum, immigration and other policies relating to the free movement of all persons, including third-country nationals, were moved from the JHA pillar to Title IV of the EC Treaty (EC Treaty, Arts. 61-69), and hence from an intergovernmental approach to policy-making to a common approach.
The other big change was in attitudes within Germany. Young degree holding Germans didn’t want to bolt wheels onto BMWs. They wanted to wear suits.
This shaky leg explains why Merkel was keep to allow so many refugees into Germany in 2015. Sadly she quickly found out that they don’t want to do manual work either.
The second leg was the EU captive market. With free trade across borders Germany became the major manufacturing nation for the EU. Tariffs on imported goods allowed Germany to make higher profits.
But that captive market has fallen away because the EU is now signing free trade agreements with other manufacturing nations. A free trade agreement with Korea came into force in 2015. An economic partnership agreement was signed with Japan in 2019. A free trade agreement with China is underway.
This will open the door for foreign manufacturing and end Germanys captive market.
The third leg is the cheapest energy in the world A Russian gas. In 2019 Germany was paying USD4 per unit of natural gas compared to Japan who were paying USD8.40 per unit. This is precisely why Germany is a major chemical and fertiliser manufacturer and Japan isn’t.
All that just changed forever.

serves us all right, not just Germany, Globally continuing to elect UN-controlled governments pushing the WEFs Climate Change invention, to destroy global sustainable energy because we were told that fossil fuels are not Green, and we must change from reliable sustainable baseload affordable energy, to the exponentially more polluting replaceable intermittent Wind and Solar unsustainable power supplies because they are said to be green, utter nonsense, the enormous use of raw materials is already showing how unsustainable this green on not green, dirty BROWN scam is, those politicians who agreed to be UN Puppets all those years ago have died off by now, but their legacy of being puppets of the WEFs Company the United Nations, remains as strong as ever, they smiled and signed us all up to the UN agenda 2030 just 7 years ago, Climate Change, not one Puppet Government leader had the guts to call out the floored science used to sell the Climate Change scam and using CO2 as the mechanism to destabilize the global manufacturing systems during the Wealth redistribution that has now waster trillions of dollars and euros, we sheeple are pathetic to believe that manufacturing temporary power supply thingies are so green, are they fertilizer when 50% of these things aren’t restyled using GREEN magic to prevent pollution during the recycling, burying the reaming stuff in the surface of the planet to leach out their toxic ever so GREEN poison into the soil, yes we numskulls falling for the Green scam every time, yep serves us right. We keep voting for the UNs PUPPETS in our Governments and expect a different result, but, Congratulations to the previous German Canceler successfully wrecking the German economy, as she pushed her country closer to the "Global Government" getting total control of her dreams.

there is no energy crisis, Russia burning 10 million USD worth of unused gas EVERY DAY near the Finnish border. But the west decided to pay the “cost of freedom”, so pin the ukrainian flag onto your shirt and enjoy the western style of living while it lasts.

Misleading. 1. Energy from most expensive source is the price for all energy. 2. Gas prices are determined basically on the stock, which make them volunerable to every speculation. 3. Countries in EU was forced to use gas. Here you are.
