Political power in the EU seems to be shifting away from its Franco-German axis, but why is this? In this video, we break down how the war in Ukraine, the subsequent energy crisis and recent election results have shifted power towards Eastern Europe.

The east European people have been preconditioned by 74 years USSR communist role, they don't really understand democracy i the vest European sense. They did not hear much the three-way separation powers, court, goverment and police. Many times they elect corupt morons as leaders. It¨s already a big problem in EU.

Although it's not completely true. My country in the West is doing fine and also better than Germany. WE actually have our own gas but we refuse to use it. WE have a lot of Eastern-Europeans work here because they don't get enough paid apperiantly from where they are from. It's not easy to compare since the conditions of the people itself is still different. If not for the West this all was not possible and yet Ukraine is not yet winning, so what can that mean for the future. What if Russia takes Ukraine with all the Western weapons we gave them?

Micron and Szulc have ideas based on old world paradigms when France and Germany were out, looking colonial powers. Since the defeating of Germany, in second world war, but subsequent wind by Germany economically, and opening up of the Victor of second world, war, Poland, but in effect a loser, because of geopolitics, and folding within the Soviets sphere, it only took 30 yards for Poland to reach 70% of per capita GDP of Germany. Remember in 1989 that was about 8%. This is an amazing rise, and even a slow down trajectory Poland will economically surpass Germany in about 20 years, United Kingdom in seven years in France in 15. This is white the old Europe, still stuck in the old ways of thinking, is so fearful of.

  12. @jacekchmielewski6372

France would be a natural ally for every state in the eu east of Austria. Germans and Russians showed a tendency to partition this area between themselves when they were not at war with each other. France however is by far not strong enough to counter a Russo-German "axis", and maybe it values it's relations to these 2 big countries more than it values mid-eastern europe. Therefore, the US remains, who can and actually shows willingness to counterbalance German, and Russian influence in the region. This explains the US-leaning policy of Poland and the baltics.
Another option would be for all these countries to swallow their collective ego's, and seek much closer ties with each other so they can become an indenpendent geopolitical actor at least in the region, but that is impossible as far as I can see.
The people here in Hungary either don't care, are not very well educated in terms of history, or fail to realize the same vectors pointing in the same direction again, and again, and leading to the same result again, and again. 😀

    March 5, 2024 at 1:27 am

I am not a fan of the US military industrial complex but France probably wants the EU to be more independent so they can sell more of their own weapons. That’s among other valid reasons…

This video is interesting, but it is almost entirely based on interpretation. Also, never underestimate the Germans. They can be down one year, but always come back with vengeance. History has always shown that. This Ukraine factor will show to be very temporary, especially after putin goes and thank goodness for the rest of Europe, especially Ukraine and even Russia.

I think the sentiment against france and germany and in favor of poland will change back to what it has been. Both france and germany certainly made the wrong decisions regarding russia. Let's not forget that it is poland which is still blocking the EU regarding hungary, which basically everything the EU should never be, as well as major russophiles. Yes, poland was right about russia, but on most other matters the ruling party is backwards. As all right wing partys they thrive in times of war and uncertainty but once the war is over, even though it might take time, people will once again realize poland and hungary (or at least their ruling partys/ party supporters) for what they truly are. Populists and liars with backwards values, which at no point are compatible with EU values and laws.

It’s simple. Eastern Europe including Poland has demonstrated it has balls, it can take the lead and is willing to. While Germany on the other hand has looked like a whipped dog, too scared to do anything, always waiting for someone else to take the lead.

I keep reading in the comments that Romania wasnt even mentioned in this video. Guys, dont take it personally, because:
    1. Rou is one of the least affected countries by the Energy Crisis, being almost independent energetically. Actually its also helping Moldova as much as they can.
    2. The guy hosting here TLDR is so poorly educated and knows so few historical facts that he was amazed in one of his videos Transylvania was not just a fictional land 😂🤣

Actually, considering his accent, he may be from Germany and ignorance about the eastern half of Europe is so well spread in Germany, France, Italy… and in general the western half of Europe(I mean they literally imagine dragons and fictional creatures here-vampires for sure in Rou 🤣), that most of the people there and especially the germans think romanians are the roma people(gypsies) they see begging and rummaging trough their garbage bins.
That was also believed by a german member of the European Parliament who insulted badly Rou and then publicly appologized to the romanian people after he visited Rou. I mean he had to visit Rou first and see with his own eyes its as european as he is just to find out such basic knowledge about the continent in the parliament of which he works everyday😮😮
And now you know the level of ignorance in the western half of Europe, the part that never suffered under the heel and boot of the USSR in general, but Russia especially and look now what Russia is capable of and what she is doing to her brothers, the ukrainians😔😟😨☹
