My question would be people that have all devices no longer can get the cables since all of them going to be replaced USB-C Plus people can't afford new devices to get USB-C and it depends on the person who wants to keep the old device, but then the probability of that cable is no longer available. Meaning everyone has to buy new specs to get that cable which I see as a problem. 🤔

I used to work at Apple but spoke out about many of their practices. I was fired and one night some thugs attacked me with heavy kicks to my groin. I could never prove Apple were involved but now I'm very scared to speak out. It cost me everything and my groin injury may never recover.

Without some breakthrough in the technology a future with wireless charging as the sole option doesn't seem very environmentally friendly: Wireless charging is awfully inefficient compared to cables, especially for small devices like phones.
And it's not just bad for the environment, lower efficiency also means slower charging and/or more waste heat (potentially reducing battery lifespan).

We could simply fine Apple for every iDevice not playing along. The only reason Apple use a prop connector is the $$$ they earn from it by fckng their customers.

In a similar move nearly 20 years ago, the EU forced Cellphone Manufacturers to make USB chargers standard. Before that, you basically had a unique charger for every Cellphone, and the charger became useless once you got a new phone.

Just remember that this isnt just a charging port , its also used to connect the phone with a computer

I really don't like where this is headed. While I do like the idea of a standard charging port I don't like the possibility of Apple getting rid of the port completely. I'm not even an iPhone user but if Apple does it then it will eventually happen to Android phones.

I think this story really highlights how powerful EU is when it comes to market regulation.
In theory, the US Congress should be just as powerful, but since they are mired in deadlock, the EU has really become the ONLY international institution that is powerful enough to force these market standards on giant corporations. No other countries on Earth can do this.

Unfortunately, Apple is just gonna remove the port entirely and replace it with wireless charging. That on it's own is gonna waste up to 50% energy a charge and then imagine how much energy is gonna be wasted by tens and eventually hunderds of millions of iPhones charging wirelessly.

Competition. You can change phones when ever you want as the new phone comes with a new cable anyway. Doesn’t matter what connection it has…
Environmental. I’m still going to have 2 usb c cables for my phone and iPad so I can charge them at the same time. But next year I’ll be sending all my lightning cables to landfill. Good work eu

I think you might be missing something, wireless charging also has to be standardized afaik.
