Germany’s Online Hate Speech Laws: Protecting Free Speech While Fighting Online Hate? – TLDR News
Support TLDR on Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/tldrnews
NetzDG is a rather controversial law in Germany. It’s a law which attempts to find a balance between fighting hate speech & protecting free speech online. The problem is many argue it doesn’t go far enough, while others think it’s a dangerous step towards full censorship. So in this video we explain NetzDG, why some think it’s censorship and why other countries like France have been using it as a blueprint.

I found japan grown more conplex mature than germany because of the USA.
Exactly because war crime denial and expressing the far right is legal there .
Cry about it . I hate what they did but on the long run it feels emotionally more intelligent to deal with bottling up and expressing anger after decades of silence
Look at how china and koreans behave and you know what is really hate
Hate blinds you , whether it be justified or not

The worst thing is that people can gaslight your kind acts doing offensive hate speech to lock you up. That's the most disturbing devastating form of toxic behavior if the law constructs it in this way. Imagine people will even fear being kind because of people use an false excuse to say you are sarcasticly hateful.
Well I would be willing to go to jail or even die if for being kind or not really kind in the future, even if people don't believe me.
Because it doesn't matter.

No wonder Germany government is so weak when facing Chinese government. They are doing something really similar to what Chinese government are doing though the Chinese are more extreme. In China the speeches against CCP and people's questions to the communist martyrs will be seen as "hate speech". Obviously nobody knows the exact definition of hate speech.
People should avoid hate speeches, however the state should never be involved!
Imagine that you are arrested and put into jail because you just show your negative attitude to certain "minority groups". THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

I think mainstream media constantly gossiping scandalizing people is worse than actual hate speech. Maybe it is actually a form of hate speech those newslines as it intended to hurt people. It hurts people a lot but we are thinking celebrities aren't human.
Yet it's these types that don't get affected by social media censorship on hate. It gives media by big tech and the EUs free pass so much power to control what is hate and disinformation for media outlets while they get away with it if they perpetuate it.
Mainstream media constantly attacks other media as potential misinformation news, while not obviously not reflecting their own.
I may not be fond of trump Qanon or Nigel farage, but the MMS did made huge corruption and oppression on the American and European people that made them worse up today. And human rights organizations don't realize this undermines the values because they desperately need media to express.
Hate is universal, so Is love.

It's not like Germany's turning into North Korea or Russia, folks. If you wanna say "The Chancellor can suck my left nut!", then you're still free to do that. In fact, politicians, high government officials, and other highly prominent persons don't get as much protection as common people. What you cannot do is suggest anyone of the usual diverisity categories deserves hurting, harming, or degrading due to their diversity trait. In fact, the first two articles of Germany's Basic Law explicitly put dignity above all else. So freedom of speech is protected to the extent that that speech does not clearly and maliciously set out to hurt, harm, or demean others dignity – especially if done so non-defensively.

So…him being killed IRL is the same as someone saying some mean words online? When he can literally just not read what they say in the first place, what? This is actually insane. Also I love that a lot of this regulations are plain censorship, just some time ago a woman in Sweden was facing the possibility of jail for mentioning that there are only 2 sexes, or genders, don't rememeber specifically which, but doesn't really matter, since biology wise, it's true and so far science doesn't acknoledge the transgernder movement as anything other then a mental illness, as far as I know.
