Is the fall of Raqqa really good news for the West?

The Syrian city – ISIL’s de-facto headquarters – was home to thousands of jihadists from around the world.

It fell to a US-backed alliance of Syrian fighters over a week ago.

*Jean-Marc Rickli*, a research fellow at the International Centre for the Stude of Radicalisation at King’s College in London told Euronews that while it DOES mean the end of the dream of a caliphate, it DOES NOT necessarily mean the end of ISIL.

    ISIS got their asses handed to them. Of course the fall of the capital of the Islamic State is good. They thought the Caliphate would spread out from Raqqa and now they are scattered like roaches.
