Previously the EU has been reticent to criticize China’s response to COVID, with some saying the bloc didn’t want to upset their major trading partner – but that changed yesterday. On Wednesday, the EU made a major announcement condemning Russian and Chinese misinformation surrounding COVID. In fact, they also criticized Trump…

Sometimes "Misinformation" is caused by the recipient's mental problems, but not the problem of information itself.

Just came across this article. May I again present something lost in history! There is a publication by Arecabooks.com on "Memories of Dr. Wu Lien-teh: Plague Fighter". Do a google search and hopefully the publication or information gathered are of any help. Btw Dr. Wu Lien-teh was a distinguished scientist, Cambridge-trained. The late Dr. Wu successfully ended the pneumonic plague that threatened the world in 1910. Dr. Wu implemented wearing of face masks, advocated mandatory quarantine and creamation of the dead who died from the plague. In his research there is no mention of any vaccine for the plague during his time. Thank you.

I don’t want to sound racist but when you have a population of 1.4billion people and the fact the like fresh meat, China is genuinely a farm for diseases. I don’t know how many of you follow updates in the news but there is apparently a new flu virus that has a pandemic consequence. How long are we as a world gonna sit by when most new world destroying viruses come from China

Screw whimpy stances towards any who whish to harm, de stabilize or missinform. There should be a higher accountability bracket for polititians and any entity with national, international or global reach. Give credit where credit is due, investigate any claim and punish any ingression on health, ecology or human rights and dignity.

Isn't this a load of rubbish? You are spreading misinformation when you put up the word “allegedly" and "seeming" when you have no facts and neither has the source. You are brainwashing the readers to believe that those are true. Very sad state of affair when pointing fingers with no proof is the way that news are given these days.
@a.westenholz4032
March 6, 2024 at 12:03 pm
I'm all in favor of it. China's misinformation on every level has only hurt the EU and the people of the EU. To try and pretend it isn't happening when China, or Russia for that matter, are deliberately doing so in a way that can be only considered an act of aggression, is not in anyone's interest except for those doing it. And unless called out on it, they will certainly continue to do so, so that won't work. Can real "cordial" trade relations be had with such partners? I rather think that the EU, and the member nations, seriously need to rethink their trade relationship with China. To encourage all their companies to withdraw from China and relocate elsewhere, and limit China's role in the EU to the absolute minimum. Until China changes how it engages with world.
@janjoschafinger5749
March 6, 2024 at 12:03 pm
The EU certainly must do what it can to keep relations cordial. But that means playing fair, not giving offence for no good reason, that kind of thing. It does not mean taking the opposite of those rules lying down.
It's a good thing that Brussels has shown it thinks the same way.
@robertv.8893
March 6, 2024 at 12:03 pm
Keeping cordial with the party you just condemned before undermines how believable your actions are.
Either it makes a condemnation a joke with no reprecussions or your cordiality is a fluke at best. EU needs to make up her mind and not play in the hands of Russia, China nor USA.
Also, countries using sanctions to prevent full transparancy in public reports should receive an immediate ticket to the international tribunal. Such ''diplomacy" acts are so severe they should be treated as crimes against humanity.

Finally Europe is taking a stronger stand on this issue! As a European, I don't care if I have to make less money or suffer unemployment for longer as long as we stop having financial relationships with countries that don't respect human rights.
