   social democracys can only do so much as a socialist their still vaunerable to market crashes, profit motivated, etc their is socialism yes but it's a limited form of socialism within a still mostly capitalist friendly society if you want one that's better and I mean way way better you'll need democratic socialism the YTber second thought shows why we need democratic socialism and why social democracrys even if their better aren't enough plus capitalism is naturally unstable, it's bad within us living on a finite resource world, etc. Also blaming it was the social democrats I wouldn't say that's fully true as capitalism also causes loneilness, artificial demand, etc we use more resources than we need seriously it's bad and capitalism needs to go. Socialism is the next step after capitalism.

    This has all changed rapidly to the right. Italy, France, Germany, Poland, etc have become very very far right. The AfD at this very moment has risen up to being the 2nd largest party in Germany

    Labour under that stooge is a centrist party. And it doesn’t go well for the others either. None are leftist but capitalists with a sprinkle of a social democracy. Leftists are socialists (not just in name!), communists, anarchists etc. None of em fit that category, same old apologetic capitalists.

    In the Netherlands in the 1990s this 'third way' you describe got the nickname 'paars' (purple) > the mix in colours between red (social democracy) and blue (neoliberalism) .

    I think another reason for this is the fear of fascism on the far right of the political spectrum and nowadays many right wing parties are being tied to fascism, Big corporation, corruption, and generally not in the good faith of the people. We also should understand that western left-wing ideals is different from many other countries.

    It is artistically proven the younger generation tends to lean left not because of economic reasons but of social reasons since social trends is now more left-leaning than traditional conservative. You could say that society is now more progressive but in the way this could be progressive left or right and people nowadays hold more extreme views and people also tend to lean left in some country for the reason of protection of democracy and the staunch rejection of extreme right wing views.

    Social democracy is the best. You can't get rid of capitalism but you can add some morals within its framework. Marxists will argue that isn't the case, but I disagree.

    Why not comment on the high popularity of the Danish Social Democratic? They won the elections in 2019 and have kept their polling numbers at a rather high level so far

    Italian PD isn't left wing unfortunately, I think it is inaccurate to put them with Labour parties and Social democrats … Renzi made the party a neo liberal "progressive" force, just like USA Democrats

    Besides, The 5 Star movement has done much more "leftist" things than they ever did

    let's be frank. UK Labour is rising because the Tories are taking the piss especially their leader. Scandal after scandal with the cops involved. Before that. Labour was going nowhere under Starmer. I still don't know what it stands for. People want change. Brexit or a Left populism. Labour offers neither

    Left wing ideology = big government / more government control / collectivism.
    The new ideology is decentralization and individualism.
    Next 10 years all countries will go over to classic liberal/ conservative / limited government parties
    I believe we are the last generation in this century seeing left wing parties ruling the west. Left is dead.

    Actually in Italy the closest thing to social democrats we have in parliament is Liberi e Uguali(free and equal), which since Pietro Grasso left, has lost most of its actual identity and is now guided by a living corpse known as Roberto Speranza.
    The PD since Enrico Letta took over as secretary general had switched from centre-left to center
