Last week, Trump claimed that he would encourage Putin to invade various NATO members, if they don’t pay bills, sparking a furious reaction within Europe. But, America and Europe have been in a difficult relationship for a while. So, where did it all begin, and is this kind of relationship sustainable?

Having talked with many Europeans, our greatest schism is epistemology. We're still operating in the Enlightenment / modernity, while they've left those eras behind and are transitioning from the postmodern to metamodern. In layman English, they think our mindset is more primitive.

Isn't it hilarious a person who doesn't pay his taxes and doesn't pay his court fines himself, blasts about what others are supposed to pay? Mr Mobster may recruit his clients where mobsters typically find their support, the us is rapidly losing their influence in Europe. The biggest taboo, a common European defence policy, is in the making now. There is even talk about reducing the number of American made military equipment and stimulate European production instead.
Mr Trump should be awarded a rpize for his significant contribution to European unity

The problems may not be all Trump, but Trump (as Putin's stooge) is by far the major cause of chaos in the US/EU relationship. If Trumpists are roundly defeated in November, the US and US can employ more rational means to work out their differences.

NATO is supposed to be an alliance, not somewhere countries can hide under American skirts without contributing. Denmark is talking about sending all its weapons to Ukraine, in which case it won't be able to defend itself or come to anyone else's aid. Why then, sould it be protected by other NATO states?

4:02 Trump being pissed that Europe doesn't dislike Xi as much, when he's kissing the ass of Europe's N°1 enemy is a contradiction that only Trump or a Trumptard could reconcile. West constantly hyped up China invading taiwan like it s a fact by 2027. If Capability is the same as intention, russia would have nuked the world many times over.
Or would the west instead hype up about other states like north korea starting a nuclear war within the next decade like it s a fact? Do you not see the absurdity of such logic? How to raise an extra 100 billion in US budget ? China threat to world peace? Must america spend like a trillion every year on defense?

Honestly asking for Europe to fulfill their part of the bargain isn't unfair. Some countries want to have the benefit of the US to defend them but at the same time don't want to spend on their military. Thats not what the US signed up for so they arent meeting their part either. Regardless long term for Europe its beneficial for them to stop relying on the US.

The situation around Ukraine shows that it's too risky to rely on US alone. EU should be powerful enough to deal with it's region problems (and fight Russia and Iran) alone, without some guy in the US government breaking apart all their "democracy" and freezing the question that should be solved right away for weeks and month.

Europe is fed up with American Adventure war, in the Middle East, and Libya.

The truth of the matter is that Europe's goal of 2 % of the GDP is nothing compared to the Russian Federation. If the Europeans believe that 2 % GDP is enough they are coming to total disintegration. Furthermore, they will pay dearly for this, especially Germany.

It’s very expensive to fund a big military Europe has gotten to be protected while pending almost nothing for there own defense. Good luck finding a huge healthcare system and a military strong enough to protect yourself. America has spent trillions to protect Europe and it is a mojos point of contention in America why are we spending so much to defend Europe racking up huge deficits when they won’t even do the bare minimum and meet there own commitments for soldering the cost

The fact is if you look at Europe they have never been a big happy family. Historically they have been at war with each other for centuries. The 2 world wars, Europe. There are really only 2 NATO countries that spend what they should on military defence. Poland and the UK.
